It blows my mind that these people get to see some of the finest talent in the world, and they just stand around. It's dance music, you are suppose to dance. Derrick, come back to St. Louis, MO and we will show you the proper dancefloor you so truely deserve.
tyler durden Oh how true my brother, all these other "so called DJ'S overnight sensations" please take note......this is the reason that I LOVE HOUSE MUSIC !
That transition at 25:10 is just insane. Such a perfect blend that you won't even notice how he mixed from one song to the other. He's actually mixing, not just fading out and playing the next tune. What a legend, DC never disappoints!
This has to be one of the best sets I have heard in the last 5 years!!!! Period! Derrick Blow this shit up! Nice one.... I am obsessed with this set now. This needs to be in every House heads Ipod etc...!
Was blessed to hear this man 100's of times in Chi/Midwest. Started at Foxy's-Tuedays w/ Spencer Kincy & Seth Love. No one else can throw down like DC!
I caught his live interview at the Apple store on Michigan Ave. a few days ago. He was there with Chez Damier. The chemistry between the two was awesome. Good insight from both of these guys with regards to their feelings on the current state of house music. Two legends, live 10 ft in front of me!
Alright Men, I'm a French guy and since the beginning, I can't explain what but I understand that Derrick was and will be an amazing DJ. I have a mix from him and he played a lot of french songs 🙏
Total respect about this Man, Derrick Carter. This is a special hear on the stage, this is ipnotic, this is mixing, and that's funky and great vibes that wish you dance without wondering about it. Yeah, this is great music..this is house!
Long live Boompty!! Derrick is still the worlds greatest house DJ imo. His style of mixing is so much better in person and with a large crowd that is really dancing. It makes you dance even if you cant dance...except maybe these folks lol.

i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Coen Kaden thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.

I've been trying for months to get Derrick Carter to come and play in my lounge room. I was thinking of setting up a couch where the camera is, inviting my neighbours over, raiding dads wine cellar and potentially having one of the better evenings of my life. He hasn't said 'yes' yet, but I haven't given up either!
for some reason i love how DC never touches the platters even though he's playing on CDJ's. Once an old school DJ always an old school DJ, technology be damned. I'm not saying that this makes him superior because of his analog tendencies, it just reflects the era he came from. #LongLiveHouse
He's just 'riding the pitch'. A technique you may prefer or not as a DJ. He still uses the 'cue' and 'play' buttons, a system you didn't have on the Technics SLs ;) Having said that, DC is an amazing DJ
He is pretty remarkable at mixing. I have seen him in the 90's on 3 turntables with vinyl mixing in all kinds of music always in sync. Including non dance music like Thomas Dolby mixed perfectly with 2 house records mixing underneath.
There’s zero reason to touch cdj platters tho… I barley touch mine… cue & play buttons & pitch fader yes… platter…. Nope. If he was on turntables he’d be touching the platter/s a lot more..

Same with the Bushwacka set. I've commented numerous times that the pool area should have been packed. Instead, it's people on their phones and swaying. I'd be with you dancing as well. No way I'd let these beats go to waste!
19.00 love his jump in the rhythm, love he doesn't mind about the crowd, and always work so serious but fun, this is creative work. who is there near him is enjoying I see :)))
How is the chicago and new york house scene in the states these days, labels like trax, nervous records and strictly rhythm nailed it back in the day, though unfortunately I was not old enough at the time that when that scene was emerging here in the UK. We get the occasional nights dedicated to this music around and about, but nowhere near as much as i wish it was
massif choons from the deep house maestro. met Derrick at The Bomb in Nottingham about 15 years ago, What an absolutely sterling chap he is, made us all feel like celebrities!

I remember seeing him with DJ Sneak in MPLS back in the day for $5. Ahhhhh, the good old days, no iphones, texting, 100% vinyl, miss those days.
Sneak and Carter are the ultimate back to back in my humble opinion ❤ Legends.
@@shaunobrien2852 Or Sneak & Farina.
I follow your channel it’s amazing!!!
Hey, I just subscribed to your channel...how cool is that! :) Cheers!
This is why DC is a legend. No fancy knob twlrlling or effects. Just great mixing and tracks
Absolutely flawless mixing... grooving
My favorite dj for all time. I ve heard him in Paris At the Rex club maybe 15 years ago ; and i am still amazed by the performance he did that night.
ALWAYS funky and grooving. One of my favorite DJs to dance to, but also One of the coolest djs to chill with...PERIOD!
this the best...
This is the definition of groove
tyler durden Oh how true my brother, all these other "so called DJ'S overnight sensations" please take note......this is the reason that I LOVE HOUSE MUSIC !
+Tyler Durden You know the Truth and so few do.
Totally agree with you
yessir!
It's time to teach this new generation how to dance!
That transition at 25:10 is just insane. Such a perfect blend that you won't even notice how he mixed from one song to the other. He's actually mixing, not just fading out and playing the next tune. What a legend, DC never disappoints!
One of the best mixers in the game.
Dammm that was smooth

A good Dj never touches one momentarily. They touch us with permanence of ear pleasures.
House music all night long.
classic chicago groove this is house
One of the all time greatest DJs. So many great memories. I'm kind of sad he's not doing three turntables any more - glorious chaos!
I caught his live interview at the Apple store on Michigan Ave. a few days ago. He was there with Chez Damier. The chemistry between the two was awesome. Good insight from both of these guys with regards to their feelings on the current state of house music. Two legends, live 10 ft in front of me!

Love house set's since I have ever heard them and here I still stand with Derrick Carter because he's amazing on the set's.
So happy to see him in small club in Chicago. This set rocks.
Total respect about this Man, Derrick Carter. This is a special hear on the stage, this is ipnotic, this is mixing, and that's funky and great vibes that wish you dance without wondering about it. Yeah, this is great music..this is house!

I have seen him numerous times since the early 90s, most recently last year at Vinyl here in Denver. He never disappoints.

So true. Old vinyl technique. Kids on here probably think he's got sync on!
I learned that from some trance player a long time ago. Did it that way ever since.
He is pretty remarkable at mixing. I have seen him in the 90's on 3 turntables with vinyl mixing in all kinds of music always in sync. Including non dance music like Thomas Dolby mixed perfectly with 2 house records mixing underneath.

Hahaha! Very true. The crowds at most Boiler Room's are some bunch of poser muppets. They don't deserve to be at them. Zero buzz.
Damn, I'd be all over that dance floor. SICK.
Same with the Bushwacka set. I've commented numerous times that the pool area should have been packed. Instead, it's people on their phones and swaying.
I'd be with you dancing as well. No way I'd let these beats go to waste!
