It almost happened to me when I was 16. Except mine was robbery. The neighborhood store owner vouched for me. The lady said," her chain and pocketbook was stolen from a black kid. I just happened to go to the store for my mother , to buy some eggs. They handcuffed me and place me in the car. My life could've changed within that few minutes. I'm so glad these brothers are home. I wouldn't say he is not mentally free... he doesn't seem broken and weak... he seems changed by the experience though... that we can see in his eyes and hear in his voice.
He was mentally free when he told them he didn't want parole if they didn't want to hear his truth! It's sad that so many are not understanding the true significance of their stories. Even through his disability and all that he has suffered the man is clear.
