    Yes, yes yes, save those batting scraps! I really enjoy sewing them together, it's rather relaxing! Then, it's available for pin cushions, bibs, mug rugs, quilted stockings at Christmastime, etc. etc. etc.!

    Straight lines and especially squared up anything is my arch nemesis. I used your tutorial for my throw sized quilts. Even though I squared the corners and made "straight" lines my quilts are definitely not square. No one will doubt that my quilts are hand-made but they will do the job of keeping someone warm.

    You need to get the cutter piller clamp. It is great because you can clamp it down to the ruler and you don’t have to use your small muscles like your fingertips. You use your triceps or biceps. I love mine.
    Also, sorry about the fur baby. I have a lot of dogs. I won’t tell you how many. But I was in a car accident and had brain surgery. I have been home bound for a long time. My fur babies are truly family. I would be so lonely without them. Prayers.

    I thought when the longarmer trimmed it, it was "squaring" it so I have not done this in 2 years! OMG! ( I did do it on the ones I quilt myself) oopsie!

    • @StitchObsessed
      @StitchObsessed  Před 4 měsíci

      Oh! Ya know, they might because don’t they sometimes attach the binding? I’ve never used a longarm service, so I’m not sure! 🤭

    • @SewWhittle
      @SewWhittle Před 4 měsíci

      Do long arm people NOT square the quilt (unless they are also doing the binding)? 🤔

    • @StitchObsessed
      @StitchObsessed  Před 4 měsíci

      @@SewWhittle I’m guessing it depends on the longarmer, but I really don’t know. BUT as you can see in this video, it’s actually pretty easy to do for yourself! 👏🏻👏🏻

    Don't you find it necessary to measure the top and the bottom to see if they are the same width?. I'm at this stage with my quilt and it is a problem. It seems I should fold it to see if it is the same width top and bottom.

    • @StitchObsessed
      @StitchObsessed  Před 4 měsíci

      You can certainly measure and adjust, but I just want to stress that having it PERFECT isn’t a huge deal (unless you are entering the quilt into some kind of competition.) when you gift a quilt, the receiver isn’t going to bring out the measuring tape and make sure the edges are the same length. If you square up your blocks when you are making the quilt top, your finished quilt should be “pretty much” square. I hope that makes sense!
