Agree with you. This is at my top of the list for 80's slashers. I am almost 60, and this movie still makes me feel like I am back in the 80s watching it for the first time.
Just wish this got a special packaging done to it.

Definitely worth pulling the trigger on Marty. Like I said in the video I was somewhat hesitant about picking it up because the Blu-ray looked so good but wow this one is a marked improvement and I don't understand how they accomplish it. Thank you so much for checking it out
This was a classic 80's holiday slasher flick which I have enjoyed since the 90's.
I was much later to the game when It came to this movie. Like I said in the video my first viewing was around 3 or 4 years ago. Definitely worth the wait though
Thank you Keith for another great review. Since you mentioned that there's no dip in quality with the included unrated scenes I'll have to get this. I've always enjoyed My Bloody Valentine. I think it's better than most of the post Friday the 13th slashers. It's great that Shout/Scream provide us with the ultimate edition of this Canadian classic.
Like I said in the video I only seen this movie for the first time 4 years ago as ridiculous as that sounds but it was definitely worth the wait. I can comfortably say it's one of my favourite slasher movies of the 80s. The 4K transfer really elevates this movie as well particularly when you do see those uncut scenes. I am not kidding they are seemless. Definitely worth picking up
Lovely stuff Keith. Picked this edition up myself earlier this year and I agree; it's a belter of a release. The 4K transfer is great, but, like you said, it's the colours that are sensational. It's definitely up there as one of the best 4K 80's slashers, up there with Maniac and New York Ripper
I still don't fully understand how they managed to improve on what was already a spectacular looking Blu-ray but somehow they managed it. It is mainly down to the colour. Never seen the movie looking as vibrant as it does on this release. Great to hear that you picked it up yourself Steve. Thank you as always for stopping by my friend

Nice one, Keith. I've got the previous Shout 2 disc blu ray, but I'm quite tempted to sell that and pick this up instead. And yeah, it's a brilliant slasher movie. Like you say, I think it's my favourite of the genre.

Yeah I have to agree with you. Scream Factory sometimes gives you alternate artwork but unfortunately it's not the case here
Just watched this movie in 4k last night. I couldn't get over the clarity for such an old movie. It looks like it was made yesterday. Crazy how they make these old movies look new. I've seen it probably 5 times on old vhs tapes so this was definitely an upgrade. 😅🤣😂
And to think I was somewhat hesitant about picking this up on 4k. I honestly thought there was no way they could ever improve over what was a beautiful looking Blu-ray but somehow they accomplished it. Scream factory always deliver when it comes to 4K transfers

@Mr.77776 I never heard anything myself when it comes to a sequel. To be honest I wouldn't say no to it but as you mentioned nothing will ever come close to the original
Yes had this a couple of months ago,the uncut version is the way to go,great pic quality.

Yeah it's something I wanted to do for a while now. There's a lot of 4K transfers that I want to talk about but I didn't want to go into too much detail with them so I think videos like this could be very handy
Maybe I can recommend another underrated Canadian slasher: Happy Birthday to me. It was directed by J. Lee Thompson in 1981. It has some star power with Glenn Ford and Our Little House on the Prairie's lovely Melissa Sue Anderson. Yeah, it's centered around a group of late teens but has more of an adult and darker approach to the slasher genre. When it was released in 1981, it didn't just follow the Friday the 13th blueprint but came up with a pretty original (as original as you can get within this genre, of course) story which leaned a little more to the italian giallos. It has some nice gore effects (without going overboard) and even creates some atmosphere and tension. If you don't already know the movie, you should definitely give it a try. You might enjoy it. It would be great if Scream Factory gave this one another stellar 4K release.
I actually have seen the movie and I'm a big fan of it myself. I think it's a very different type of slasher movie. Actually now that you put it in my head I am really due a revisit on that movie because it's been years since I've last seen it. I might give it a watch this weekend. I watched this one about 3 or 4 months ago and enjoyed it, Keith. Shame it had to be cut, I would have loved to have seen it how they intended it to be shown. A nice little review Keith.

I watched my American sniper 4k last night, was really impressed! I gave my 1080p blu ray steelbook to a friend who has just bought my 2 subwoofers and he was literally blown away 😂. Awesome atmos.

Unfortunately no you can't get a European version Roy. It was hard enough trying to get a Blu-ray edition never mind a 4K. Scream factory is the only way to go

The 4k disc should be region free right?
Yes the 4K disc is absolutely region free. Unfortunately the Blu-ray is region A locked.

Yeah it's the same over here in Ireland. My Bloody Valentine was very hard to get hold of on Blu-ray never mind the 4k. Great to see movies like that getting the 4K treatment

Honestly I hope you get the experience I got when I seen my Bloody Valentine on 4k. I didn't think they could improve on the Blu-ray because it looked that good but somehow they managed it. You are in for a treat
