    The Logitech K380 has become my favorite wireless keyboard for Mac mini M1. At only $40, this cute, minimalist, multi-device bluetooth keyboard packs a huge punch. Here's why I prefer the K380 over Apple's Magic Keyboard for my Mac mini M1 studio desk setup.

    Next gen should have an included battery, wired mode support and backlight. thats how this is gonna become the best minimalist keyboard. the Satechi x1 is dope af but theres something about the k380 that makes it look fresh and modern.

    • @b3naqua
      @b3naqua  Před 2 lety +4

      Agreed - all those changes would be awesome for a v2 of the K380, esp backlighting. I'd pay more for a keyboard like that.

      Get an eneloop rechargeable battery. Internal batteries are good but when they're done, they're done. Doesn't matter if other components of the device still works fine because the battery would have been dead anyway.

    • @MND-um6kw
      @MND-um6kw Před 2 lety +1

      That would be dope but considering that the MX Keys Mini exists, I would be curious how Logitech would update the K380 and add those features while keeping it within that price range

    • @SimonBauer7
      @SimonBauer7 Před 2 lety +1

    Like you, I have the K380 and Mac Mini M1. They work great together, but my one gripe is that the Mini doesn't seem to recognize and pair with the K380 right away when I wake it up, so I have to plug a wired keyboard in to type my password and pair the K380 once logged in. It might be the Mini's well-documented Bluetooth issues (the same thing used to happen with my Pebble mouse, but it seems to work now). Anyway, it's an inconvenience, but otherwise the keyboard works great!

    What are your thoughts on the white plastic someday yellowing? I agree that the white/gray colors are really clean and minimal (as compared to the dark gray version that has the three yellow keys), but I also worry that it'll yellow fast.

    • @b3naqua
      @b3naqua  Před 3 lety

      Good Q - I’ve only had the keyboard for a couple months and so far it still looks amazing. Depending on room temperature and moisture levels, I’d imagine the colors would still look pretty nice for years, esp if the keyboard was cleaned here and there to remove oils and stuff.

      @jhyns Před 3 lety +2

      hi! i’ve had the keyboard for a year and use it moderately. it has no signs of yellowing even with seldom exposure to sunlight and typing on it of course. it’s really easy to maintain by cleaning it with alcohol every once in a while. however, i’ve seen older k380s where the most used keys look shiny probably due to the matte coating wearing out. i think that’s more of a concern than yellowing. :)
