More Honda's, or less Honda's? if this video gets enough views, will do some more stuff to this thing.
More Honda Please especially the k24.
More Honda's 100%, might even help grow your audience a little bit
Would be great to see comparisons with your motors, Love to see the underappreciated H/F series stuff get some analysis, despite it's underwhelming rod to stroke ratio
I accept any internal combustion.
Rotary to V8, Diesel to NitroMethane.
I have my favorite brands, but I don't let that get in the way to watch something new and different.
More honda, would love to see a B16B. if you can take out so much from a 4A-GE, i would like to know what you can do with an engine that already has over 110hp/l
Yeah man, k series engines are fascinating. There's a lot of myth and mystery surrounding the intake and exhaust manifold options, would be great to see you address them all like you have for the 4age
^^^^
Would love to know optimal setups for my own car!
Yup, there is no denying that the K-series top end flows exceptionally well from the OEM casting, but it responds even better to port and flow work so I'd bet there would be even more gains to be had with some work on a flowbench especially. The intake would definitely benefit from being located better, or with a proper heat shield and seal to the hood, and I'm also willing to bet some adjustable cam gears would make better use of the cams/ powerband right off the start. Without the gears you can't degree the cams which is leaving some on the table. Thanks for sharing this man. 👍
Hoping to do headers and exhaust. struggling to find the tube size for headers at a decent price atm. My usual supplier doesn't have it. would be keen to do custom inlet as well but not much room in this chassis for what i want to try.
K series, that is next JZ engine 😅
plm makes affordable headers for the k20-k24@@Garage4age
Love the 4age content but I always wondered how long before you run out of 4age things to test. Nice to see a k thrown into the mix
Good job. Finding 10whp with just tuning is impressive! Definitely do not mind seeing anything interesting on the dyno (almost anything is).
Loving these dyno testing vids. They gave the rough idea of how much gain from each mod. To me the most important is how the power curve change after mods rather than absolute number so we can expect at what rpm range the power is made.
more Honda’s yes (replying to your pinned post)
but even before this , always been a fan And a regular viewer way before I light my channel…awesome stuff as always mate!
Nice work. Toyota, Honda, doesn’t matter to me. I’d watch this channel if you tuned a Kia!
ok kia on the way, ha!
Just helped my brother get his k24 swapped Rabbit/Golf GTI on the road, excited to help him "choon" it soon!
Really impressive how you got 10 more whp just with the proper tune, also that torque curve is so damn flat! You love to see it! You still get that lovely top end power and sound without it dragging it's legs at lower rpm.
He didn't gain 10hp as such, just stopped leaving it on the table
Love your content! I’m a honda guy so naturally I’m gonna want to see more dynos of their engines.
Regardless, I’ve always found the 4ag stuff interesting! Seeing your testing translate to easily digestible data on the dyno has always been entertaining and informative.
I'd love to see more Honda stuff. Great video, as always. 👏
Data is data. Trying unique setups is excellent content.
Definitely liking the tuning aspect of any engine.
Nice to see you tuning K series Honda engine. Keep up the great work.
Very beautiful power curve!
Would like to see that same engine with a k20a2 or z1 head swap. Keep up the good work 👍
Looks like it wasn't too bad, but it was actually awesome seeing the adjustment process on an already tuned care to eke out those last few points!
Always like to see K-series. I wish to see a comparison between 4-1 vs 4-2-1 headers 👍🏻
Great point.
I tested both on my car (Kmod Performance Stage 3 K24 E85). 4-1 headers (ASP) outperfom 4-2-1 everywhere. Just by the noise we can tell it flows better.
@@Acercatemamiis damn right. Just pulled off a Ktuned 4-2-1 in favour of ASP 4-1, it gained everywhere on the 4-2-1. It picked up 18kw 7500-8600. Stock block K24a, 4P 156 head, DC3.2.
Top work and very cool to see :)
Awesome video
Like many others, I’d love to see more Honda content on k24, k24/k20 head, and maybe some h22 (my friend and I will be tuning one soon).
But my actual request would be for you to do a deep dive on NC miata/mx-5 2.0 MZR dyno tuning. Been self tuning mine lately and I’d love to see some actual real dyno testing done by someone who documents everything to the Nth degree like yourself! Thanks!
Love your work mate, the customer will feel that everywhere on the road. Had a good laugh that the charge pipe runs from right where the cold air is, back to where the hot air is - awesome!
Can't have your intake air getting cold!
@@Garage4age you could do an intake test that pulls air directly from the exhaust!
yup - its a hot air intake from hell really.... when the bonnet is closed you'll hit like 60c air intake temps for real in traffic - down to 30 on the motorway cruising - and up to 40 if you thrash it - it neeeeeeeeds a cold air intake - but that particular intake makes vtec sound stupid loud in the cabin so maybe thats why they did it? also if its the factory air temp sensor, that will heatsoak and lie about the intake air temps as well after it gets too warm - easy to replace with a sensor with the same curve tho :)
@@cbdrift Tbh i forgot to check if the iat has any trims on it. has a aem ecu. first time ive tuned one, so was finding my way around the software as well as filming and tuning.
well, there isnt really any room normally where to put filter in a colder location without moving the battery, ep3 has quite large hole and high up in the wheel well, thats where most of "coldish" air is coming to filter, also mine has a metal shielding plate between the filter and headers, but yes its not ideal, there are of course bottom mounted filters, just dont hit deep puddles
love your content mate
Thanks for sharing.
Ofcourse we want to see more of it. No need to even ask.
It's pretty impressive engine, given its widely available from wreckers.
Always been impressive how well that sits so VERY snuggly in the bay
Love the k24. I had a Honda exactly like that one with just the k20, loved it though. Such a cool looking car.
Love your videos.
Good job! I think more videos like this would be great (despite the channel name). I suspect most people are interested in getting more out of an engine than specific brands - at least I am.
I'd love more Honda stuff! Great video
Truly awesome video....Nice work and safer to run hard!
No way! More Hondas please! Currently putting together a K24 to hit 300bhp na...
Nice tune. 👌
more honda content please. the possibilities and combinations are endless with this motor. my unopened k24a2 has been putting down 350-500 throughout the year and no signs of stopping
Очень круто друг!
Всегда смотрю твои видео, удачи и продолжай радовать новыми видео!
Привет из Сибири)))
so much appreciated!
Paying you a dollar for every time you've posted some cool content. Cool to see some variety, love your work.
Oh no you didn't.. A toyota guy giving a toyota guy money on a honda video. what has the world come to
@Garage 4age If it ever gets to the point where im using a megasquirt I give you permission to shoot me.
Love your testing mate.
Try to change back to back inlet manifolds on these K engine and later ported inlet manifold.thanx
Awesome method of tuning and maximizing powerband.. 🤘
Moarrrrrr k series dyno please😊
yes please...more
All the content please ,thanks !!!
Great vid as always, would love to see an upgrade to the 50 degree vtc gear off of a type s/r/k20a2 etc., it should give a nice bump since you got the biggest results with vtc maxed out.
Yeah it was meant to have the 50, but pulled it apart and confirmed it doesn't. also looks to be a tooth out (retarded)
Honda K-series - legendary!
K is the way..
Honda the way bro for sure 🎉
Fantastic idea to tune more cars
The initial tune up looks like how i have tuned cars in my early days. Loads of ignition advance, and over fueling to combat knock. Now i know better.
Awesome video!!! Waiting for tuning some exotic stuff like for example Wankel engines? There is almost not information/tests on tuning strategies on those.
I was waiting for some Hondas let see those b series 😊
I'd love to see you go in depth with the k24 like you have with the 4age
Like the K series content
Plus 20k subs
Love to see some Honda content ❤
Yo turbine what u doing over here
@@pr0n5tar aye !
Soon consult u on some tunerstudio shizz
Keep the K series going.
The 4-2-1 headers is probably a PLM. That's the most commonly used one for K24's.
And yeah, I went for the Injen COLD air intake instead xD
Once I need to re-do my chain tensioners, im also opting for the 50deg VTC gear.
Like to see valve adjustment. Tight intakes and mid exhaust. Every valve perfectly adjusted. Also cold air intake. Hood open and closed with hot air intake.
That's nice.
Awesome I would love for you to do a turbo on that like the boostedboyz channel! K24 swaps are great!
More please let's get it to over 200wkw👌
Yesss.
Nice
K24 with K20 and K24 cams. They use wildly different low cam profiles. K24 uses a lot more duration on the low cams, where K20 can get more aggressive on the high.
I imagine k series videos will be very popular. Lots of these being swapped here in the states.
I'd love to see more hondas. Especially older models the d16a8 engine honda made is very cool basically a 4age
No make me diss yuh
RWD k24 build would be 👌
Data is data. Trying unique setups is the way
niiiice :)
Do more to the k20!
Pls do more k24 content omg
more k24 !!!!
advancing cam timing will increase compression ratio or compression cylinder pressure
As usual very good contain !
Owner of the ep3 could get a rbc vtc cam gear so barely any k20 vtc cam gear it will benefit of 45° vs 30° of degree :) continu your good work !
P.s by any chance if you could find something with a 2zzge in it i would very like to see what you could do because i would maybe like that you tune mine but im from canada ! :p
It looks to have the 50 deg rbc vtc pulley. I assume the guys that put it together have limited the pulley travel. will look into it, as it definitely wants more advance. long as there is piston to valve clearance available. as for other cars, its just what ends up here and i have time to video. this one is a friends car. but would be pretty interested to do some 2zz stuff
@@Garage4age ah i see well keep your good work i like it if by any chance you end up finding a car with a 2zz it would be nice if not than maybe i could contact you on email or something and maybe can work something with distance tuning 🤷♂️
I would like to see more, but maybe do the sub 2000cc motors and do some comparisons with the 4age. I think that would be pretty dope, and you would still be staying close to the 4age roots.
I'm dreaming of SR20 NA at this amazing channel.. someday.. It was so unexpected to see Honda's, so.. who knows, right? ;)
У Вас очень интересные видео! Хотим побольше видео про любые авто! Привет из России)
MORE K SERIES and B SERIES :D!!!
Honestly you could tune any compact car and im watching
vtec kicked in yo
🔥🔥🔥🔥👌
Nothing wrong with a bit of verity... couldn't stop looking at that intake though 😂
K20A with bolt ons and you will be an internet legend (even more I mean).
You should totally do a video on an R 18 civic! I personally own one, and haven’t found a bunch of videos on the dyno
Just curious on how much horsepower you can gain
Is there a specific order that you're making the changes in, or is it more thats what you feel like and/or you just keep having to go back and tweak things on the fly?
Also if you're willing to chuck the civic on the dyno again I'm happy to and interested in watching more
i've been wondering what if the hood was closed?. that seems to be much closer to real life run than leaving the hood wide open
if this is yours to mess with, id swap back in the 160 hp k20a3 and do the same you do with the 4age testing. the A3 is probably the cheapest you can get. but, it has the type s pump already installed, no oil squirters so you dont starve the crank journals.
Excuse me which is the utility of blue silicon tube that goes from inlet tube to engine cover? Sucks oil evaporation? Best regards.
Probably the previous tuner backed off max cam so it's not mechanically maxed out and left some fuel in it so it wouldn't knock when it got heat soaked under load.
The other thing is taking 2 degrees out having nothing changes is probably due to the ecu trying to reach it's max timing before knock
ecu doesn't have any knock protection. or have any knock issues. it does have iat sensor which should be used to trim fuel / Ignition. rather than leaving it rich all the time, will just get even richer as air gets hotter. the cam timing is another whole story. will cover it in next vid. All i can say, is the guy who had the work done didn't get what he paid for.
The second I saw that FAT 11.7 AFR, I knew there was a ton of power to be had. Did you keep it at 12.5 AFR to be "safe", or do these NA K24's run better on the richer side?
I vote for more K20/24 dyno videos. Ive seen all the other CZcams videos of people discussing what combo/parts to use, you could make a lot of content showing the differences on the dyno.
Most cases, isn't really any more power to be had going leaner. Was more to see what power would make as is, so had a solid baseline to work with. as planning on doing some changes. rest of the tune still needs work also, but no point sorting that out till have made said changes
More GN125 dyno pulls plz
More Honda's please!!!
More Honda. K series super flat torque curve. Love it
'Ohh where to put the airfilter?, hey why not put it above the exhaust, it is plenty of room there' ;)
Valve clearance! I've always wanted to see the difference between valve lash that's just a thou or 2 loose, vs tight on spec.
This one is pretty rattly. probably could go some adjustment. doubt will do anything measurable though
@@Garage4age I know it won't do much, I just want to see hard evidence it won't. Plenty of people think it does, I just want to see the myth busted once and for all.
@@Garage4age oh holy shite - i buggered up my valve lash one time and made it too tight in my ep3 k20a - i really didnt want to fix it - gained a whole pile of seat of pants power out of the mistake - but was convinced by those who know more that it was bad due to cam ramps and valve closing shock loads n stuff - honestly felt like it had like 40hp more everywhere - set it back to factory - but now i want cams lol - it did a TONNE more to the car for me with my ep3
Hey, have question, that is nice to test, does distance from throttle body to intake valve effect on pover or on the engine response, with the same intake Leigh.... 🤔🤔🤔
Get a b series and tune the cam gears in every direction combination
It would be cool to have more obscure engines on this Dyno just to see what can and can't be done to things, like say a Toyota 22RE or a 5AFE
how about a 3y? haha. I have been tempted to do something like that, to show the principals work on any engine. but likely wouldn't get any views. plus the lack of any larger camshafts and the likes available
❤
👍
I'd love to see you swap a K20 head in it and tune it.
Assuming you're still on the factory ECU, must be sure to do cam sweeps at each cam timing breakpoint. Tune each cam breakpoint fuel/timing map for optimum. Then select your cam angles for each rpm breakpoint. You'd be surprised how tuning each map fattens up the curve during cam angle transitions. Have fun. Sky's the limit if you've got the time and money (500+ whp on naturally aspirated, methanol 2.6 liter K-series race motors now).
Hey, it has an aem ecu. so more basic approach than how the factory ecu does it, i guess you could say. everything was wack on the cam timing side of things mechanically, will redo the cam timing in the next one
We want more b series
Inlet manifold is a genuine honda item RBC (CL7 Euro R) or RRC (FD2 Type R) - the later being better
That mugen twinloop is probably restricting a lot of power. A 3" system should see a further gain
Has rbc cast into it, so assuming that what it is. I would like to try a whole new inlet of my own design. but not much room in this chassis to do it. Yeah the exhaust is way too small.
