Here is how to calculate :
"The calculation of Upapada is very easy, simply count from 12th house to the 12th Lord. Now count as many houses from 12th lord. The house where count ends is where your Upapada is. There are a few exceptions:
If the 12th lord is in the 12th house or the 6th house, then Upapada will go to the 9th house of the horoscope.
If the 12th lord is in3rd house and 9th house, then Upapada will go to the 3rd house of the horoscope."

@@venusiangirl just count one from 1st house. so your upapada would fall in 2nd house. make it (2nd house) the ascendant to check aspects for yogas. @Alma Pazares i thought that too. i have 12th lord (mercury) in virgo. so 12th lord in 12th and i always seen that my upapada lagna was in 9th. because of these rules. @Anmoll Astrologye channel Why are you using 12th house as the upapada lagna?
My 12 th house lord is rahu placed in 4 th house what does that mean

according to Parashar, there is an exception if the lord of the 12th placed 7 the from the 12th house then it will be wrong if we calculate 7th from the 12th lord, in this condition when the 12th lord is in 7th from 12th house then only count 4 houses from the lord of the 12th....in ur first example libra ascendant 12th house is Leo sun is the lord, he is 7 the from the 12th house in Aquarius, as per the exception we have to count 4 from the Aquarius so the UL is t=Taurus...also in the example plz check ,in the Taurus AL is mentioned.....

Mam in D1 chart in my 2nd house 9(Sagittarius) is written and Jupiter(16° 39' 34") in the 8th house with 3(Gemini).....mam please tell me the longitivity(lifespan) of my spouse
I calculated according to the way u mentioned and me and the guy ended up in the same Leo sign but none of us is Leo rising tho . I also checked this way with David and Victoria Beckham couple , their sign fall in their 7th house of each other . My question is what does it mean to have same sign as a result from both partners

I am an aries ascendent woman. My 12th house lord Jupiter is placed in 3rd house. Acc to rules my upapada lagna is falling on 6th house Virgo. But I read somewhere that UL cannot fall on 6th house. But I dont know the exception rules, that how to determine UL in such a case.
My earnest request to you is, kindly determine my correct UL and help me out. Please. 🙏
