Thanks for the updates Adam. I’m from North Carolina and I’m coming there this weekend to honor the 50th anniversary of the film and was planning on going by quick hill. I’ll be staying at the gas station in bastrop both nights. I’d love to meet you and go see a location or two. Thanks

Wish could visit this location being from the UK it’s hard get down there would loved picked up few pieces add collection I have pieces of the house and gas station that i had brought from other collector hopefully one day I’ll travel down it’s a dream of mine to stay at the gas station then have bite eat at house witch is now a restaurant

I really appreciate your documentation of the development of the site, even though it actually is really disappointing to know that the site has pretty much been obliterated in the name of progress! So glad the house was saved. It probably won’t be long before the road itself is developed.
