That tolled express lane is very interesting. It is unlike any other toll lane in the USA that I am aware of, in that it only opens on weekends and holidays. It helps relieve traffic during the busy summer and ski seasons, and as such is designed for recreational traffic rather than the typical commuter traffic you would see in an urban area like Denver (eg. the I-25 and US-36 express toll lanes). There are no HOV/carpool discounts given the nature of recreational traffic.
