What a great and tiny little microphone. Gonna use this on our vacation in January as I have a feeling some places don't like you bringing in 'Pro' gear so something small like this won't even be noticeable!

If I didn't already have a Rode for my camera and a Yeti for my computer. Though, this appears to be a great little microphone for mobile use on the phone.

DED1939 I’ll be taking it with me on holidays as it is SO unobtrusive. Nobody will even know I have a mic attached to my camera.

Thanks a lot for this review! I still dont know which mic to get, between this one and the Boya BY-MM3.
I just love the sensitivity of this mic indoors and the cardioid polar pattern that allows to focus on the audio source we want. However, in the reviews I've seen of it outdoors the high sensitivity and the absence of a plush wind muff made it impossible to record if there's anything stronger than a breeze, the wind really beats against this mic. Some reviews also complained of a hissing sound, but I didn't notice too much of it in this video. I really think the cables or adapters used (if any) are often responsible for white noise or hissing sounds, so it's good to switch them up just to be sure.
Anyway, that other mic the Boya BY-MM3 on the other hand performed quite well outdoors, is a little cheaper in price than this one, and by the way comes with a plush wind shield. But the polar pattern is omnidirectional, so it's good for some things, not so much for others.
I might just get the two mics, then at least I'll have cardioid and omnidirectional options for all my audio needs XD

Have a new video coming out on the FeelWorld FM8 tomorrow. Nice inexpensive mic that actually performed very well. Take a look. Let me know what you think.

With these sensitive mics, it's very important to set the gain to manual in your camera before hand (if you can) else the auto-levelling will crank up the quiet moments and you'll get lots of hiss. If you can set the levels manually, you can get outstanding results. Still looking for a good deadcat for it though.

I don't think this was designed for smartphones unless you record in portrait. With the way it bends, to use L+R stereo properly, it needs to be attached to the top or bottom of your smartphone. But since we record in landscape, the headphone jack is on the side, and that would orientate the L+R mics vertically, on top of one another.

Sure but smartphones are just like cameras. All my cameras have their mic jacks on the side. If you need the mic in a different orientation or location you just need to get an extension cable and move the mic where ever you want. Just like you would have to do an a traditional camera.

please do not give excessive review I have bought this mic and very sorry and the mic did not give a different performance if you record video without this mic and I am very sad money wasted

That’s your opinion. It has been tested here and I continue to use this mic quite often with very positive results. Mostly use it with my GoPro as it is very small and convenient.
