I never knew the NHS made exercise videos, so cool. God bless the NHS
Glad you enjoyed the videos. ❤
If people keep in shape and move they get less injured and less ill so it is a huge return to NHS, clever and very good idea. Spreading the idea of moving all the times and stay fit it's good anyway.
I like how she's talking slowly and clearly & saying "it's ok, if you can't" like she understands that some of the viewers are here for the first time & they're not used to working out. When can we see more of these lessons?
Sam is an amazing Instructor. Pop to our site to see more of her classes.
Thank you for making this available for free!
My back was killing me for a year and this program got me right back to my former self. It's brilliant stuff.
That’s amazing to hear ❤
These are all excellent exercises and very well presented and explained by the lady. I've been doing these for years and they keep you flexible and fit . Give them a try out by stretching as far as you're able to start with and then going further when you can.
Totally agree Barry. With regular practice you will see your overall flexibility improve greatly.
God Bless the NHS this is amazing 🤩 xx
Hi Sam, sorry, I have been following your videos, did not comment, have been doing for the past 5 or 6 months, very educational and supportive. Love your simple, clear instructions and bite size practice. Thank you very much for sharing your skills, with me and the World around and God Bless you for your kindness. Scarlet xxxx
Thanks Scarlett. Sam really appreciates the feedback. She is a great instructor. ❤
Thank you for these Pilates videos! I can re-watch if needed and 6 workouts for free is amazing during these trying times... Thank you NHS❤️✨
You’re most welcome ❤
Super instructors! Coming back to Pilates after two yr gap. More effective than the instruction i paid for for 10 years!
Obviously I do not receive the personal feedback but the pace is great and the exercises are sufficiently challenging. Well done NHS!
Glad you enjoy the classes and instruction. Sam is great. 😊
Great classes Thank you! I hurt my back 4 years ago now I slipped 3 discs and couldn’t move for a month until it got a little easier even putting socks on was awkward... I like Pilates as it’s great for strengthening...
Sammy was our instructor in open age in London and is great!
THANK YOU!💗🙏🏾💐🙏🏾 My covid lockdown body needs this asap.
Thank you. Harder than I remembered - Pilates fan as someone who lives with MS!
Thanks for posting. Very helpful for people who don't have the time or opportunity to get out to a class.
This was an excellent re-introduction back into Pilates. Thank you.It will help me get flexible again after the COVID restrictions.
Thank you for The reintroduction back to Pilates . I started yesterday with different videos and have had quiet bad back pain after . Understanding the posture is very important .
You should try our video specifically for back pain and health
Liked and enjoyed the class. Thank you! I’d recommend to read and watch videos about pilates before trying it out or you’ll feel lost and end up its way too fast for you:)
Thank you NHS for free class. It was good. Where is the next one.
This is an excellent intro class to pilates! Thank you NHS and the instructor.
I’ve done 10 minutes. I feel better for it already. Promise I’ll try to do more very soon. Great instructor, pity we aren’t given her name.
This is great! Thank you!
Thank you ! Great beginners Pilates class / getting back to Pilates!
😊❤
The NHS videos of exercises for occasional aches and pains...knees, backs etc are first rate, too.
I did it!😃😇🥰😍🤩
Good work out good skills. This is good to people that are retire from sport of any kind of gym.
Great video. Have my first Pilates class this week, so helpful to use this in between classes to help me
Great cueing for beginners! Bravo!
Excellent introduction for a beginner. Thanks
Very clear -hoping to return to pilates after injuries last year. and closure of classes. Recognised all the exercises, which does help, so the mat will be out this evening
Pilates is great post injury. We have lost of classes that are for specific conditions as well that you should try
Very professional, very patient.
This is perfect, some tutorial videos for "beginner" pilates and beginner pilates classes are way too advanced for me.
Great intro, thank you 👍
Fantastic and very very useful! Thank you
Really good explanation for a beginner
Just diagnosed with RA 😢 so trying this to help between flare ups to strengthen. Great speed too not rushed.
love this workout!
Really lovely class. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed
She has amazing thoracic mobility
This is more yoga than Pilates!
Had to stop when it got to kneeling as it hurts to take weight on my knees and I'm wary about wrist strain
Thank You!😃🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you. I was able to cast this vid to the big screen -- almost like having you in the room! I have malformed feet, so when lifting off the knees with the toes, only my big toes are trying to lift. Any modifications for this? Thanks again. This was 30 minutes well spent, and I will be back. I just got a floor mat for my birthday, with the promise of regular use!!
Exelent workout ! Great for biginers!!!i love it !!!!❤❤❤
1st time doing.... wow!
Good for you. Check out more of our content, you will love it.
Good class for starters like me.
Glad you like it. Sam is a great Instructor
Great video
I need some sort of handout with some pictures and descriptions. It's too fast in places and to slow in others. If you have never done pilates this is not very good from the NHS
How long should we do each workouts?
Ah as soon as I read the introduction on the screen about Pilates being for people who can easily get on and off the floor. I struggle with that. I heard about Pilates via a wellbeing poster. Now I see it won't be for me. I'll continue on with Qigong that I learned from a pain management programme. I've subscribed to your channel to see what other content you'll upload. Thanks for all that you do.
This was great, thank you
The pelvic tilt is explained easier on the back pain pilates vidoes taught by Sam
Really helpful ❤
Is good after spraining ancle I was very active person
I do
Like this I do it after I’ve done a joe wicks senior low impact work out. I do find it’s a little hard in my wrists so I come out of the stance while she’s chatting away.
Hi just done that exercise do you do any ab exercises
Hi Julie, you may like to try this 10 minute workout for abs: czcams.com/video/06SW69PYAXI/video.html
serious pilates have watched the back arching bit alot. alot alot.
very help full
Just discovered this on a CZcams search. I have cervical spondylosis and am concerned that right at the beginning it involves stretching your neck backwards which I’ve been told not to do. How can I get around this?
Hi Maggie, as this exercise video is not tailored to any specific condition, characteristic or person, we recommend that before following and undertaking the exercises in this video, you should consult with a health professional and/or your GP if you: consider it necessary; have any concerns about your health; are not sure whether the exercises are suitable; have any pre-existing health problems, injuries, or any current symptoms.
Ahhh she has the same accent as my mother in law 😆😆😆 but these exercises are great ✅
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Noooice
Is pilates the same as yoga?
Slow down! Supposed to be for beginners 😂
The instructions are way too fast. I can’t process all the words.
Thanks for the feedback. For these introductory videos Sam is trying to give as much information as possible. The more advanced videos are less talking and more follow along.
This is most definitely NOT an introduction to Pilates.
Recovering from a slipped disc and recommended to try pilates, I can do at best 20% of these exercises.
These are pretty much impossible if you are even slightly overweight.
Expected better from an NHS video tbh
Hi Rich, we actually have videos for back pain, health and slipped disc that you may find more suitable. They are under Pilates for conditions.
Too much talking not enough doing. Not actually a 30 mins workout as all she did was talk
Great exercises but she goes way too fast. It's impossible to follow and concentrate on breathing or posture. Would be great If she could stay off the coffee and try and record it again
Just pause the video, go to CZcams settings in top right ⚙, and change the playback speed.
Not a great representation of Pilates practise....as an NHS pilates video, it would be better to only show safe movement. There are frequent examples in this video of positions which are pulling on joints (rather than safely stretching muscle) and are unsafe for the spine shame
Way too much talking
Hi there, we appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
seamed ok but couldnt stand the girl shouting, she has a microphone so a gentle voice wouldve been better. on to find another, thumbs down from me
Really cool and so informative. Kudos and God bless!
