I had the EXACT same problem with my Focus!!! Turned out it was corrosion on the battery terminals. Keep em clean bi-weekly with baking soda + water, and get a terminal cleaner. Also remember, negative off first, back on last, prevent a short. Once I did that, I was no longer stranded with a "dead" car.

You have a fuse out, thats why your blinker is going 5 times faster. Pop open your fuse box and look in your manual, it will have a number for the fuse that handles your blinkers, you should have extra fuses in your box, just pop out the old and pop in the new and your blinker will go normal speed!

Does the car trouble have anything to do with how warm the engine is? Like its hard to start a 15 horse power boat after a rainy day.... Since Swifty started it on the first try right after he had shut the engine down.
It's really unnecessary to buy water from stores, in Sweden you can get like 100 times the amount of water at home for the same price as for a normal bottle from a store.

Swifty I gotta say something I found out, BROWN SUGER IS JUST AS BAD!!! Brown sugar is white sugar sprayed with something which is how its gets its colour then its compacted... which means its ALOT WORSE than normal sugar as since its moist and compacted you can get more of it in the same amount as you did white sugar...
