I’m starting to feel better. My surgery went well and I had an excellent surgeon here with a beautiful bedside manner too. A very kind surgeon who fixed me up and just very little scarring. My leg is alive! I spent a month in hospital as my amputation on left foot (partial) infected requiring two more smaller surgeries. I’m amazed at the skill. I was at Royal Melbourne Hospital under the excellent care of Doctor Adrian Ling and Dr James and Dr Andrew also looked after me. I’m very blessed to be in Australia and receive this in public health. I recommend Dr Ling to anyone with peripheral artery disease.

@@vasfengaripedi1030may I ask you what caused this problem in your case what were your symptoms?

@@iamHDR In part genetics with dad, all his brothers and two cousins having same disease. In part smoking. I didn’t have and don’t have diabetes, I wasn’t over weight, I exercised very regularly, ate a Greek, Indian, Asian home cooked diet low fat etc … Symptoms we’re pain in feet and calves when walking that is never had before and falling over hurting left foot and it not healing at all. I had no idea why at the time but it started to die, parts actually died and I had that part amputation with the fem pop at the same time. I was diagnosed after attending a work conference where I was presenting and having something I’d never had thrombosis. In an emergency I was diagnosed. Operated quickly but I needed some work done either getting my body ready for major surgery.

Why not use Mills to begin with? What's the advantage of LaMaitre?

How long does it take for the leg swelling to go away?

I’m just a patient I’ve had sterling still one month out. No infection and no clot present. I’ve had multiple ultra sounds to check.
