Given this live version of 'Jake To The Bone' was recorded during TOTO's '40 Tours Around The Sun' (2018-2019), it features Shannon Forrest on drums, not Simon Phillips (TOTO's drummer between 1992 and 2014). The talented Shannon Forrest was TOTO's touring drummer between 2014 and 2019.
I feel like the picking pattern is the key to this one. You nailed it, I'll try to get it :)
That's true. I get better rhythmic feeling with upstrokes and on little sweep. If i remember right Luke is using quite similiar pattern too 🤔 Little tricky to get right sound 😉👍

Kaverin soitossa on jokin uskomaton energialataus joka kerta. Tämä on myös oikein hyvä muistutus siitä, että jos jotain meinaa soittaa, voi sen
samantien soittaa kunnolla eikä mitään ihme näpertelyä ;)

Great Cover. I bring it up because there are some who think humanity is moving towards loosing the use and indeed the whole pinky finger. I watched a video, a while back, about some child who was born with fully functioning six fingered hands and feet. Something to look forward to, especially from a players perspective. Great ear for the nuances of these tunes, but don't neglect bringing your own self to the tunes also. Maybe think of it as playing someone's tune but with your own accent, plenty of room for diversity in rock, ... , way more interesting. Somebody should form a toto coverband with some humor to the goofiness of the rock genre, naming it tootoo. If you have the time check out some of the simon phillips backed versions. I think you could give lukather a lesson on this tune..
That's true and i could do that...i mean playing more like my on way. But my channels idea is to play as close as possible to original version of each song so people can learn them accurately. Solo section by the way is pretty much my own improvisation 🙋♂️ transcription on my patreon page is how Lukather plays the solo.
@@JuhaAitakangas Right, performing also is like acting. Can't say I've ever heard someone's accent difference in guitar playing. I do think having the ability is probably worthwhile. Don't know how someone would achieve it. Easier as a vocalist.
