  • THE LIFE AND WORK OF 'ABDU'L-BAHÁ This talk - first in a sequence of seven on this subject -was given at Northern Ireland Bahá'í Summer School 1990.
The late Betty R. Reed was for many years a pillar of the Bahá'í Faith in the United Kingdom. She served as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly from 1953 to 1970 without a break, almost ten years of this as its Secretary. Following this she served on the Board of Counsellors for Europe for a further fifteen years.
On her passing in 2008 the Universal House of Justice, governing body of the Bahá'í Faith paid tribute to her many years of “sacrificial labour … in the fields of teaching and administration” and her “irrepressible enthusiasm, her capacity to galvanize the believers into action, and the indomitable strength of her spirit”.

    Dear Betty Reed,
Historic servant of Baha’u’llah and the Baha’i Community of the British Isles and later the United Kingdom and beyond that a member of the Continental Board of Counsellors for Europe. .
Wonderful to hear her dear voice again .
Remember vividly her talks and visual aids during my early years as a Baha’i in the early 70’s .A wonderful find during these special days of the Covenant and the Master’s Ascension remembrance.Thank you Baha’is of Derry .
God bless her radiant soul in the worlds above no doubt looking down and encouraging each of our efforts for the Cause of God during these critical days leading up to 100 years of the Formative Age .

Dear Friend, If you have just discovered this beautiful garden, I envy you. There are delights growing on every tree and wonders hiding behind every bush. I am about to commence my second tour of the garden, because I know I missed many beautiful things on my first trip. It won't be my last.
