    Looks like you already figured it out, but those stock batts have too low of a discharge rating. I ran into the same problem. New batts and problem solved! This is one of my favorite cheap cars. I’ve got a Hobbywing kit in mine and if you haven’t seen the videos I’ve made on it, I recommend you do when you get a chance (mine has the green Desert Journey body). These things fly and can take an absolute beating too! (Like the curb you hit 😀)

    Wow, just ordered one of these with the brushless.... Was thinking I'd definitely want to upgrade it but after seeing how hard it is to control, I'll probably just stick with the brushed.
    At some point they just get so hard to control it's not even really fun anymore lol

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  Před rokem

      Brushed is fun if you’re not looking for the extra power and speed. If you do decide to go brushless I’d recommend changing the wheels which would help a lot with being able to keep control of it

      @CornPopWazABadDude Před rokem

      @@Van_City I just got a brushless version that I actually tried to cancel from Amazon but I guess it'd already shipped, it actually is a little much on full speed so I ended up on about 3/4 most of the time.
      It's a 1/18 so on full it basically spins out the entire time.
      I have a 1/10 coming Friday that I tried to order in place if this, but that one is brushed but has some great reviews. I'll see how it goes and then decided which one I'm going to end up keeping. I'm thinking for my needs (young boys) I'll likely end up keeping the larger brushed one

    • @CornPopWazABadDude
      @CornPopWazABadDude Před rokem

      @@Van_City meant I got a brushless of a different vehicle, the deerc 302e 1/18. Have driven twice now, it's definitely fun but with cars that small and light brushless seems like a little much almost or maybe it's the gear ratio. Seems like that could be changed to more for more top speed less acceleration because as is now it literally won't go straight if you press the trigger all the way, just instant spins and that's on concrete so ya. Might be sending this one back, but 9200e brushed gets here Friday but that one I assume would probably be good brushless with the larger size and tires

    It's fast enough for me right now. Will do it dome day though.
    Questions.does a 3s just fit easily without any rigging.
    What weight oil should I use for the shocks and how much. (Btw:have the same car)

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  Před 2 lety

      It’s definitely fast enough out of the box. The 3s battery I use is similar in size to the stock 2s. As for oil weight I haven’t had to add any to mine but I would probably go with 49-45 wt rc shock oil

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi I have links to the upgrades in this video description.
      Only real modification I did was for the servo because I wasn’t wanting to wait for a new one. I however have linked the one I recommended that should be an exact fit.
      Only thing that has changed since I did this upgrade is the pinion gear is now pressed onto the stock motor from factory instead of using a grub screw.
      I also have another video showing a closeup overview of my setup which is titled “9200e Brushless Install Overview”
