“I’m like Detroit red in a zoot suit, loose screws.” Is a reference to Malcom X when he was younger, he’d straighten his red hair hence why they called him Red and wear zoot suits. He was drugged out and pimping woman at the time and in his autobiography he said he was unhinged and ended up in jail before finding Allha and becoming the Malcom X that we know. It’s a really clever line that went under the radar
Nas came with heavy bars in this. It wasn't the craziest verse, but it was a nice verse for sure. I and Nas shook hands at Lollapalooza 2014. I was close to the stage when I saw him perform live. I was turnt off life when I saw and heard him perform live certain songs. I will never forget that. Nas is one of my fav and one of the greatest rappers ever. I've been a fan since the early or mid 2000s. I can't remember. A long time for sure.
Yooooo SK I'm a huge fan of your videos! You consistently speak the truth and eloquently articulate the thoughts we all have. Much love, brother. Keep up the fantastic work!
NAS was an alien level lyricist back in the day. I remember driving from Ft. Leonard Wood MO to Ft Huachuca AZ. I copped a NAS cd at the px on my way out of town. I was 19 driving cross country and instead of Skynyrd or CCR on repeat, i found myself lost completely in every word of that album. I felt things i had yet to experience. That is power. I am 42 now and i remember that album when i don't remember the faces of past female relations.

Agree I wanted Nas to go a bit crazier on this, but honestly who else has put out 6 albums in the last 3 years. Wayne been rested a little bit. As far as Nas go, both trilogies were top notch. I'd kill for a reaction to 40 Side off of KD2. Stay up Stevie!
Exactly . Wayne slid for sure . His delivery was more dynamic, but these reactor guys only view verses from one line to the next line . Everytime someone says " like___" they go 'oooh, that's bar' and then they stop to pat themselves on the back for "catching" it, and breaking it down.😂 It's much more to lyricism than lines . Wayne basically makes the same 3 statements every time . 1. My money up like____ 2. I fuck her like_____ 3. My choppa go _____ .
Wayne is one of the GOATs for a lot of reasons. The ONLY big criticism I have with Wayne is... his bars are probably the nastiest; but most of the time his bars aren't cohesive with each other. So they stick out being independent instead of leading him somewhere in a song. It is probably because he free styles his songs and doesn't write them out. We will never know how he gets alpha to omega in a song haha.
@@dewaynerogers2583 Yes, awesome imagery throughout it. But I don’t really mean it like that. I’m talking about how Wayne’s back to back bars leading into punch lines are individually sick verses. But then you put them back to back (still both cool independently), but when you listen to them in the song they have no relative meaning to each other. I think that’s where most rappers just put a filler verse that’s still sorta on topic. But Wayne just decides to put two sick simile punch lines back to back with absolutely no meaning to each other. They just rhyme, sound good, and both were similes/ or double entendres.

Wayne is a supreme mc. Sometimes i feel wayne is probably the best mc to have existed with bars, word plays, double, triple and quadriple entendres, and deserves more credit than he gets. Its surprising how wayne mostly out does even the bests of bests whenever he's featured on a verse. Wayne is a god mc with bars and word plays. Whenever wayne decides to rap, he super impresses. Wayne to me is the 🐐 of all goats 🐐. There's practically no rapper that wayne can't body. Check all the features he's been on: From no love- with eminem, too good with tech nine, respect my conglomerate- busta rhymes ft lil wayne and jadakiss which wayne obviously had the best verse, never die nas ft lil wayne etc, as you can see

He was drugged out and pimping woman at the time and in his autobiography he said he was unhinged and ended up in jail before finding Allha and becoming the Malcom X that we know.
Lil Wayne came out in '97 with the Hot Boys on their first album 'Get It How U Live!', his solo album was in '99.
He was in a duo with B.G. Called the “ B.G.’z “ in 94/95

Celebrating his 50th birthday with a classic end to an unprecedented 6 album run. Happier than he’s ever been lol he let wayne cook. This is what he wanted imo.
Underrated comment. Nas didn't cook as much, he knows his mission is accomplished. Wayne just wanna gobble everybody up on a feature.
Right.
And that's why wayne was called "The Greatest Rapper Alive" at one point.
Hahaha. Stop bro. Wayne called himself that, but on this he did go off flow wise and a couple bars were nice but a lot of the shit he said was throwaway bars and rehashed ideas.

People saying Wayne murdered Nas on this says a lot about what they prioritize in music.

Ever heard "Mona Lisa" Litterally can play out the video in my head! And by the way there was never a video made.
He doesn't freestyle that's a lie. He uses the recording equipment like a pen says line the listens to it back thinks of another line. Its all cap. Check wayne trying to freestyle

To think wayne cooked nas is the same as being delusional. Nas is on another level yeah its cool to rhyme something 14 times but not something special cause majority can do that and wayne is great but cant compare him to nas. Listen to the whole album nas is bigger then rhyming something 14 times his lyrics , storytelling, poetry, flow , being able to paint a picture, message , content/concepts, the knowledge/education hes dropping is unmatch. Wayne could never make an album like this the album is like a movie. Then go listen to outro on waynes album nas hade the best verse on the whole album 🤷 both killed it but nas is bigger then rap.
