Diego Garcia, aka Dodge, is actually BIOT - British Indian Ocean Territory. When I was there we lived in huts on the beach. The only base I was ever on that ran out of booze. Yep, even the bowling alley ran out of beer. 🤪 when the 141 finally arrived there was no dearth of volunteers to help unload. What a place.

The US won't going away any time soon. The US even maintains a small fleet of ships there, ready to be fired up and deployed at a moment's notice to respond to threats in that part of the world.

A paid vacation in a way, but the job came with a lot of responsibilities.
