    My dad worked for Yukon Southern Airlines, and after his war service he returned to Edmonton and worked for CP Air until he retired in Vancouver.HE was very proud of CP Air.

    I love to see Air Canada do one of the new 737-8 Max in an retro orange CP Air scheme. It would also be cool to do one 737 for all the airlines that ended up as Air Canada. Pacific Western Airlines, Nordair, Eastern Provincial Airways, Canadian Airlines and Wardair.

    For the many years I travelled for business in the 80s, CP Air was the only airline I would fly. It was truly a pleasurable experience and the Empress Clubs were first class. To bad travellers of today will not likely ever experience what so many CP fliers experienced regularly in the years of Big Orange ! That airline is so sadly missed.

    one of my most memorable-amazing summer jobs I had as teen was for CP Air ... at Vancouver YVR Operations HQ. *sigh* So neat to be able to go into that big hanger and see how they rip those planes apart for safety checks/ maintenance ... wow, what a treat!

    40 some years later, I fondly remember a CP Air flight from YYZ to YCC on an L1011. It was just magical. Then 20+ years later, YYZ to YHZ, still real linen and silver for the dinner service in coach. Crew was just great.

    • @FirstLastOne
      @FirstLastOne Před 2 lety +3

      I think you meant DC-10 and not L1011 as CP Air never had L1011s. Also YCC is Cornwall Regional Airport with a tiny 1007 metre long runway. I believe you meant to say YYC which is Calgary.

    what a total mind bender to see this video as i extremely lucky to have flown in of their 747's way back in 1977. my adoptive parents took me to the netherland's as that is their where they immagrated from and that trip was biggest highlight of my life bar none. the only thing that can out do that is to fly on the new 747-8 model as the model i flew on was and i could be wrong , i beleive it was a 200 series.gonna have to look in to that it could've been 100 model for all i know!! ok it was a 200 series as i just checked production run as the 200's entered in to service in the early 70's.
