Yes, thread size or weight, whether wool or cotton. Looks like dk weight yarn.

What multiples and additional chains to start. I will probably have to count and estimate from the initial 120 chains.
Each fan needs 8 chains (8 DC) in the first row of fans. Then the second row of fans, starts to use 9 DC per fan. So if you're going to try and size a dress to start, just think multiples of 8. I am doing the same thing to make 4 dresses for 4 ages of girls to make matching dresses. Itnisnsuch a beautiful dress and not too difficult (this is my first time using such a small hook and I usually dont do such intricate patterns. Thisnis easy to follow the video... with a lot of stopping, starting and rewatching.)
Just make sure to keep your counting and really really watch out for mistakes in your work because it will affect the dress.

Will you please let me know how to increase the rows
The rows like row 2 give the opportunity for increases. If you notice in row 10, you ch 3, skip 3, sc in next, sc in next, but on the next one you sc 2 in the same stitch. This makes an increase. I put an increase in my 26th row every third, instead of every other one and it gave the dress a pretty flare. Like this (ch 3, skip 3, sc in next, sc in next, ch 3, skip 3, sc in next, sc in next, ch 3, skip 3, 2 sc in next, repeat.) When you increase, make sure that you have an even number of chain 3 spaces.

please dont tell me this is your only English video? I LOOOVE your stuff. Ive made this dress a few times. I tweaked a few things once I made the 1st and learned the pattern and they have all turned out BEAUTIFUL. I LOOOVE the doily type look but seems like its only the Spanish and Indian culture who know how to make the stuff I like. Do you have any more English videos? Dont have to be dresses. If I just learn a design, Ill know how to make it a dress..
