  • Here are three of ‪@WhitewaterGundogs‬ Field Bred English Springer Spaniels as they work on more advanced control concepts in the field. This drill uses two white pigeons as the temptation "sucker bird". Control of your working dog in the field is vital whether you are training for hunting scenarios or Field Trials. You will see the differences between three very distinct dogs and how they deal with the direction provided by Rob. This is an advanced drill so the dogs need to have a great deal of field experience prior to expecting them to be able to handle this kind of control. First up is HR Whitewaters Madison Reign "Maddie", 4 years old. She has her Finished Title in UKC/HRC Hunting Retriever Hunt Test and is only a couple points for her FC in the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial (ESSFT) program. Next up is SHR Whitewaters High Desert Gambler "Maverick", just of shy of 22 months old the son of our Maddie and Hawk. He has his Started Title in UKC/HRC Hunting Retriever program and several placements in ESSFT in Puppy Stakes. Last is FC HRCH Whitewaters Tomahawk "Hawk" who has his Finished title in UKC/HRC Hunting Retriever Hunt Test and his Championship in ESSFT. He also got one late season 2023 Master Pass in AKC Hunting Retriever Hunt Test program and will be competing this summer 2024. So all of these dogs have had hundreds of birds in the field, have been thoroughly conditioned to the commands used in the field prior to putting them in this kind of advanced drill. As always please comment, ask questions and share with your dog friends who would like additional training opportunities.
