Your room is so perfect!I envy u so much!😍😍It has independent bathroom and nice window view.😍😍I'm a new undergraduate of St Mary’s this year and moved in my dorm room at Williamson Building just two days ago.Unfortunately I failed to get an en-suite room… I'm really not used to public bathroom cuz I'm not sure if it can be kept tidy and clean all the time.😔And my room is far away from bathroom so I have to walk through the whole corridor to get there…I think it's quite awkward to be seen wearing pajama or bathrobe the way to take a shower.😩What's worse,my room is located in the ground floor, facing to the slope in front of Fergusson Building, and close to the gate of south east wing,so there is sound of passersby and even cars out of my window every day, which makes me feel lack of sense of security. And it's much smaller than I expected…I used to think the size of it could be as big as what is shown on matterport…Right now I'm racking my brain thinking about how to maximize it as much as possible.Generally speaking I'm rather disappointed at my room.
Your room is so pretty! I love your tea collection and all of the fairy lights! I'm going to be applying to go to Durham but I'm worried that I'll be leaving it too late! I haven't even written my personal statement yet. I know I have loads of time left to apply but I'm still worrying. Could you make a video about your experience of applying, when you applied and when you got an offer etc? Also did you choose St Mary's College or did you want to be somewhere else? I visited on open day last month and fell in love with it! 🌟
thank you for the video!!!!❤️❤️ I applied durham university this year and i was allocated to st mary, since st mary is not my preference this video has gave me some idea about the accomendation😊😊😊
I really love St Mary's, it's a very kind and welcoming college. Not all of the rooms look like mine, there's a massive variety but they're all lovely in their own way!
This video is such a great help! I've got my place confirmed and I'm starting at St Marys in September. Do all of the rooms come without a bedside table? and do you think this is something that is needed and you should get before you start?
Hi! Glad it was helpful. I actually think my room was an exception for not having one so definitely wouldn't recommend you but it in advance! Let me know if you have any other questions 😊
i will be applying for durham v soon so this was so helpful!! but im struggling to choose a college as during the open day i only went to see a few but wasnt too keen on them arghhh
I used the website to compare room types, number of students, formals and whether it was catered or not to make my decision, maybe that could help? Also I tried to choose one that wasn't too far from my department!
You can request an ensuite and if you have medical evidence to support your application you should get one but I know quite a few people didn't have it and got one. There aren't loads of ensuite rooms but the shared bathrooms aren't bad!
How many double beds and en-suite rooms are there in Mary’s?? Also, are most of the rooms the same colour carpet and curtains as yours, I’ve only seen red ones? I’m hoping to be going in September xx
Hi Meghan! There are about 45 ensuite rooms in Mary's but they are prioritised for returning students and those with medical requirements. However, there are usually other fresher's that get allocated these rooms too. If you do have any particular reason to require an ensuite I would get in touch as the college try to be as accommodating as possible. With the rooms it's a split between the brown curtains and carpet, and the red carpet and checked curtains!
AHHHH THIS IS PERFECT on monday i got my offer from Durham and its my first offer! im so happy you made this
Thanks! Do you know what college you've applied for? Also what other videos about Durham would you like to see?!

How do you stick stuff to your walls?
do you get to choose if you want an ensuite or not? i'd love to know cause i'm not very excited about sharing a bathroom with other people😅

Hey Carina, is your room in the Ferguson or williamson building?
My room was in the Williamson building!
