Treidel Schifferdorf Krudenburg - Walking Tour | Excursion destinations
Krudenburg is a district of the municipality of Hünxe in the district of Wesel on the lower right bank of the Lower Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia. The village on the river Lippe is a popular destination for excursions. The district of Krudenburg is closely linked to the history of the knight's seat of Krudenburg. In Brandenburg times, Krudenburg was elevated to a lordship. The fishing village had a harbor on the Lippe where the Lippe ships spent the winter. A bridge over the river was also important and a bridge toll was levied for its use. In addition, Krudenburg was a station for horses and horse drivers in towboat operations along the artificial towpaths along the banks of the Lippe. (Source: Wikipedia) In this video I show some impressions of the medieval boatmen's village. There are also impressions of Gartrop Castle and the historic Gartrop Castle Watermill. These are only about 5 kilometers away from Krudenburg.
