    I bought this baby twice because the first order had a broken one and a repeat color. I don't regret it! I love them!!!😀

    I have used Ohuhu alchol markers for the last year after my great niece turned me on to them. I have both the regular 80(?) colors and the pastel set. I just discovered the fabric makers and have a great time with all of them.

    Thinking it would be wonderful for this, of course after I bought Tombo's. Thanks for doing this. It's nice to see this comparison. And fun to see you, Karen!

      No I think the Tombows are way better for wet work so be happy!! You definitely got the right ones (in my opinion!). Happy arting!

    Thanks for saving us from ourselves. Good to know how they truly react. Now we'll know how to attempt to use them if we so choose to purchase.

    Thank you! I haven't tried them. Just bought Tomboy paper. I had bought 48 Colour Alcohol Brush Markers, double brush) marker a while ago. They're awesome!! Thanks for the comparison. I probably will try several myself👌🤗😘💜💙

    Karen I thought this came out really nice, at least it would if it was me who did it 😋. I just got these (smaller120 set) and was doing a search and your video came up, really nice to see them in action with my favorite artist. I didn't know about the gesso trick, I think its awesome! Might be fun to experiment adding them to gesso on a pallet to premix. Anyhow, I'm trying to swatch these in some kind of order that makes sense. I got them because of the felt brush and the price and Ohuhu is a brand I trust. I'm going to mainly use these to color in my card projects so it doesn't really bother me that they don't move like watercolors, I have plenty of real watercolors for that and much prefer them to any marker. This was a very nice side by side compare, thank you for making it.

      So glad you enjoyed the video Wendy! Best of luck with your experimenting! :)

    Great video, thank you for testing them. Isn't it funny how we become used to markers just moving then when they don't it's a disappointment. But on the flip, what a great set of colours for anyone that just wants dry felt pens for colouring books!

    Glad to know they don’t blend out with water. Also where do you find tomboys at $2 a marker? They are $3.49 at michaels and around $3 at blick.

    • @KarenCampbellDRAWS
      @KarenCampbellDRAWS  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh yes, individually, all markers are crazy expensive. To get them cheap, grab a set instead!

    Dear Artist, Just got done watching your demo, even before you said it I thought holy shit, that ink is not moving. You tried so hard to bring it home. She was not bad at all. But not a pleasant project for you. Thank You for this, I will be doing a big clean out soon and will give my niece a lot of stuff. The big guns are not big for nothing, they are great. So I guess 🤷 we will be paying for for top quality. And if we want do do better and better that the game. Again Thank You. I feel a big let down, but my niche is going to be very happy. Happy New Year to you. Your always a JOY. Judy

      Hi Judy! Thanks for watching and recognizing that. I'm sure your niece will be happy to have them anyway, but yes, total let down. Happy New Year to you!

    I’ve been waiting for a video similar to this because I’ve been looking for a great water soluble marker to use because I love using them when Im painting. So since ohuhu is an obvious fail lol, what would be your top pick other than Windsor’s newton (I really loved that color)

    • @KarenCampbellDRAWS
      @KarenCampbellDRAWS  Před 2 lety +2

      I highly recommend the Tombows! They come in a huge range of beautiful colors and truly are very water-reactive!! Plus they have a skin tone set which is super nice if you like to draw a lot of faces!

    If the book you're using isn't 300gsm, it won't blend. Speaking from experience. It worked beautifully on your sample page, so I wouldn't give up on them.

    • @KarenCampbellDRAWS
      @KarenCampbellDRAWS  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately that wasn't the issue, the journal page was the 300 gsm it was the sample page that was just the cheap stuff - maybe that's the trick! lol! Only works on cheap paper?! Who knows!

  • @Huxleyi
    @Huxleyi Před 2 lety +2

    Aw that's so disappointing! I have an older set of these markers, from perhaps a year or two ago, and they work great with water. I mean, they melt like a stabilo all! I posted a pic in the mixed media society's last lesson, the hair is all Ohuhu water based markers. I'm so sorry these didn't work out for you

    • @KarenCampbellDRAWS
      @KarenCampbellDRAWS  Před 2 lety +1

      That's ok, you know how it goes with markers, but happy that they are working well for you. Thanks for watching!

      So the freebie sheet is actually faces. The eyes is included in the Fun Fab Swatch Pad book itself. Sorry if that’s confusing!

    Oh wow. That sucks! Maybe they'll rework their recipe and get the colors moving...... You just need to relax, take a chill pill, quit being so uptight. So what if you aren't a alcohol marker, you are still pretty, no reason to be tense and worried, people still love you so relax, move a little, dance . Now get on that paper and show your true colors, you can do it. 🙄

      Hahaha, thanks for watching! And yes hopefully the markers will take your advice.
