Upgrading Old Trafford respects its history and ensures it stays modern. It keeps fans happy and attracts new ones, while also honoring its legacy as a special football venue.
I don’t think Upgrading will get you a stadium as good as the New Bernabeu or NouCamp. The railway and the fact it will need to be done 1 stand at a time, just like 20 years ago will make it less than if it was built from scratch.
You might want to keep the heritage, but if you want to attract the very very best players from Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy, you have to build a stadium as good or better than the Bernabeu.
These players want to play at the biggest most modern stadiums.
And don’t forget €1 billion worth of construction in the UK gets you a much smaller stadium than in Spain due to higher costs in England, so you are already behind from scratch.

Upgrading it requires more funds than building a new one along side it, the old one can be used for other things
Building a new stadium is what Man united need cause looking at it the aspect of generating income the new stadium will create an avenue for income generation and since it’s gonna be built very close to the Old Trafford the legacy will remain standing ❤
Honestly keep the stadium, purge the insides to build anew, reinstall the seating, have modern features and amenities installed, and use the land around the house as an entertainment extension of the stadium. imagine going to one of the many exits of the stadiums directly into a pub, a small grocery store, etc.

inevitably, money is central to this.. or rather financial.. and that will be the decisive factor.. not only building a new stadium would avoid any disruption to the existing stadium, it adds a new asset to the balance sheet.. a refurbishment on the same stadium on the other hand, the amount spent would have to be amortized as expenses.. on top of loss of revenue on matchdays.. those who want a refurbishment are just romanticising..
Maybe it’s time for a new stadium. I understand old trafford is legendary but all good things come to end in life and maybe it’s for the best to get a new stadium and make new memories and history.

If you want it to standout and be unique. It has to be a new build. Old Trafford is legendary and the historic moments will oive on through the fans and the club. If its to beat Spurs ,Bernabau and Nou camp it has to be unique and have features that are unique. Modern Munich rememberance site /Tunnel. The statue's kept and names of the stands. I cant see it being big enough or unique if the currebt stadium is updated. The issue with the rail line is a big one. Gutting if it get knocked down but the Glazers have left it so long and basically destroyed the stadium that i gear a rebuild is the only plausible option.

Stretford is an area located within the city limits of Manchester. The greater Manchester area covers an area of land nearly 500 square miles. Old Trafford and my club Manchester United are in fact well within the area of Manchester. As was our former club identity, Newton Heath. Formed in 1878. This is located in the North of the city. We were then bought and the investors changed our name to Manchester United in 1902. Also moving location to Old Trafford. Nice try for your attempt at looking cleaver, it’s a shame I’ve had to correct you on such a basic thing as Geography. You’re very much welcome yourself.

Postal addresses were worked out for the ease of delivery of letters. Manchester City Council boundary has never included Old Trafford. United started in Manchester but left Manchester in 1910, locals refer to it as ‘Purification of Manchester’. You wouldn’t know this as you’re not a local.
