nypost.com/2024/06/17/us-news/horror-stories-from-nycs-8th-ave-strip-of-despair/
Disclaimer: In this video, I tried to show the real situation of that particular section of NYC. Recently, there have been many incidents and crimes reported. Ask anyone who lives here, and they will tell you to avoid 8th Avenue between 34th and 42nd Street. Some people call it the ‘Avenue of Crazy.’ I know it’s hard to see all those less fortunate people living on the street, but we should do something to ensure these people get the help they need. From my side, I did my job by filming and showing the real situation, and hopefully, city officials will become more involved.
NY Post. LOLOL!!! Biased piece of radical right wing propaganda.
I was born and spent my first 28 years 17 miles from that area (Times Square/Port Authority). Now I live up in the mountains behind San Diego "off the grid" where you can not see another house. I only go out once every two weeks so watching ALL THOSE PEOPLE in NYC is overwhelming.
@@williamhenry3337 how do you sustain yourself through income
❤❤❤
How very sad for you.
Away from crowded city NY, do not you feel lonely in San Diego ?
@@Yatri234 I would. LOVE NYC!
The ugly truth is disturbing to watch. We have the same situation in San Francisco. I have seen them die during cold mornings. Clean up crews show up and erase any trace of the dead.
The Governor and Mayor of course doing nothing about this huge problem. Worse thing you can do is put homeless shelters full of addicts and mentally disturbed people in midtown next to Madison Square Garden and Hotels. It's really awful what these politicians are doing to this Great hometown of mine. Something needs to change.
Such a shame go see this, your walks don't often capture this reality so thank you for sharing . Also thank you for replying to a few of my comments as you walk, I watch before I go to bed for mindfulness and peace, New York is like another world from where I live in England . Best wishes.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Unfortunately, you see homeless everywhere nowadays, you go to any American city and you will see homeless.
@ronaldcarlson8572 Yes I agree. But this particular area in NYC need more attention and this less fortunate people should get more help. They are not only suffer from mental issues but high in drugs, they need more intense care.
nypost.com/2024/06/17/us-news/horror-stories-from-nycs-8th-ave-strip-of-despair/
@@TheNYCWalkingShow I agree
@@TheNYCWalkingShowUnfortunately, some of them don't want help. They want to stay on drugs
@@TheNYCWalkingShow Why don't you pay for their "more intense care" with the money you made off of this video exploiting them?
Hey Sifat. Thanks for sharing the downsides of NYC. The penn station is flooded with homeless people as well as outside port authority W42nd st. Homelessness, drug addicts etc has been a problem in NYC for decades 😭
Blacks are a problem in NYC, not the unhoused.
@@DianaValencedrugs are the problem because people are stressed
New York lifer who's moved away since 2022, spent so much time in this wonderful city; specifically the mid to late 80's early 90's. Thanks for sharing this. My go to when I'm feeling a little homesick although very happy to be out and where I am.
I live just outside Manchester U.K and I'm actually surprised to see the worst bit of New York looks clean, tidy and comparatively safe in comparison. 😸
This isn't the worst part of the city. Many areas are far worse. But tourists don't go to those areas in Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx
It's remarkably clean and green for the amount of people in that are. Hardly looks like the "worst" part of any city. Not to mention all the Broadway theaters, world's largest bus station, train stations, shops, restaurants, all the conveniences and the subway right under your feet! Amazing city!
@@peterwelbynyc didn’t look like that lady year . There was 7 accidents in Central Park last year and this year there is 23 accidents
Thanks for showing us around.I totally love New york and have been there 3 times in the past but its really expensive, maybe in the future?Who knows,Greetings from Amsterdam,The Netherlands 😊
Hello from Naples, Florida. wow, some strange sights there, for sure. Thanks for sharing the amazing views with us, have a great weekend 👍 💯 ❤
To a New Yorker, Naples is strange. Not a fan of Florida and the politics is beyond backwards. You can have it. Ill take Manhattan, as do millions of others.
NYC didnt look like this in 2019
Oh yes, but that was before the COVID pandemia and the start of the new World War III!
Hey Sifat! What's up? Wow ! There are some weird sights out there for sure but New york is still dream place for most of the folks !!! Have a great weekend!!!
What’s the mayor doing about it?
Glas of wine,!,
I see homeless people and drug addicts everywhere, even on the main streets of New York City.
This video is a very interesting glimpse of the social disparity in the U.S.
People on the street just pass by the homeless sleeping on the side of the road without giving them a second thought...
Thank you for great sharing my friend
Nice bustling video of 8th Avenue NYC. Love to see all the streets of NYC. Its so vibrant. Your camera quality is top notch. Thanks for sharing. Love from India...
what a dystopian future 😭
Hardly. It's fantastic! Love NYC! Vibrant, beautiful, great entertainment, transportation, always lots of people. Fantastic! No wonder everyone wants to be there. Stay under your rock.

I worked round the corner from there in 2004 and walked around there pretty much every day of the week but don't remember it rough..just busy

Hello Sifat. Some really rough neighborhoods are in the Bronx . Like South Bronx, 149th St, and 3Ave. Mott Haven . Even Brownsville or East New York in Brooklyn. 👋🏽
I know. I filmed there as well.

@@TheNYCWalkingShow Hi Sifat . I think some people came down on you unfairly. It’s NY. It’s a big city. It’s public. It’s life. Keep up the good work.
It’s okay dear! Thanks for your understanding. Thanks for your support ❤️
Great streets. Thank you for sharing.👍

I love how passers-by walk by completely disinterestedly without a shred of empathy.
There is lots of empathy, but this video ignores it.
What's supposed to be your point? Look around any big city you will see all kinds of people. I am 70 years old and have been all over NYC mostly at night bar hopping. Like any city, there are areas to avoid, but the spots that are popular is where the $$$$ is. Never had any problems.
The problem is NYC had 7 accidents last year in Central Park . There’s 23 accidents this year . I want nyc to be more safe
do you live nearby? many of your videos are on 8th ave.
what i've just seen? people walking in the streets, living their life, homeless people, people doing meditation, i'm going crazy c'mon
anyway, i'm from Brazil and i see this a lot especially in São Paulo, there are some places you can't go. It's not only US problem, but it is a worldwide problem, we should care more about the other people, try to help them get some rehabilitation and make things more accessible for the homeless people in the US, Brazil, UK and all around the world.
It's really sad the state of the world we are living in right now
btw, great video showing the other side of NY ❤️ keep going
I am 75 years old and worked until I was 70 years old to obtain maximum Social Security benefits including Medicare for my health. I've never had any medical issues. Never had a prescription. No aches, pains, acid reflux, bloating and same weight and waist size as when I graduated High School in 1967. So for now it's working.
Well lucky you gramps. Many millions of others ain’t so lucky. So what’s your point? Besides the one on top of your head.
Why do you have to be so rude when Grandpa is trying to share his wisdom and life experience with you? He needs your company to kill 30 minutes while waiting for the blue pill to work so he can spend time with Grandma. I didn’t even know about the maximum Social Security benefit and Medicare-I learned something new. Take it easy on Grandpa. I hope I live long enough to reach his age.😂

Bellissimo ed interessante video grazie mille New York è fantastica
I could not 🚫🚫 live here or even visit ,no way 🫤🫤
This looks like how SF downtown looked a few months ago. It's gotten a little better lately..a little..
One day show us the downsides of East 125th and Lexington ave Harlem ny. Over there is worse. Oh and Kensington in Philadelphia is even more worse with drug addicts, homelessness etc
Go see Kensington avenue
America needs a reboot.
I used to work down there when I attended college. It’s amazing NYC is now a dump.
Realidad no solo en NY sino en todo el Mundo😢
Thanks
It’s quite sad seeing all these homelessness people
Looks almost as bad as Kensington Avenue.
Kensington isn't downtown Philadelphia thats another part Philadelphia is mostly clean nothing like NYC now or in the past the bronx made Philadelphia look like Disneyland in the 80's 😂
compared to San Francisco and Philadelphia, this doesn't seem bad at all. But NYC is not headed in a good direction!
It's fantastic! As is San Francisco and Philadelphia. Love all three cities. Stay out if you don't like it!
I worked on Wall St during the Greed is good era of the mid to late 1980s......Man it was beautiful... What a sh&t hole it is today
Why anyone would want to live in all that mess amazes me.
It's horrible and sad
Nah, it's vibrant, alive, filled with opportunity and joy. Stay under your rock.
Beautiful New York City 🇺🇸
8th ave has always been bad. There's a methadone clinic right by the mcdonalds on 34th which is why it's been called the crack head mcdonalds
What's bad about this? it's vibrant, alive, safe and filled with opportunity. Love it!
I have a friend who goes to that methadone clinic. What is wrong with wanting to wean yourself off of drugs and get sober?
@@DianaValence Who said there was anything wrong with weaning? Point is, it's not your choice. Stop imposing your morality on others. LOVE NYC!!! Best city in the world. If you dislike it, STAY THE F OUT! You are not wanted here.
What a nasty place to live.
If they call this the "Strip of Despair", imagine what they call the area down by the Bowery. As there is homeless all over NYC, what makes this any different from any other area.
Sorry I missed the premiere, Sifat. Interesting video, sad, really. But a strange juxtaposition where you have this on 8th avenue and one avenue over is Billionaire’s Row.
Unfortunately, This is a sad reality! A lot of people struggle with mental health and drug problems! We need a better way to help these people and give them a right direction!
Like 127 👍 💯 ❤
We have a saying in Afghanistan, " be poor but not dirty" .
Lo ciento qué desastre muy fuerte CARACAS VENEZUELA 😮
the cops just walked past these people lying on the sidewalk, how do they know if they are dead or alive, like what the heck.
I know it’s heart broken but this is a sad reality here in NYC. It’s a big city and if no one call for help then police will not do anything. Also, what happened most of the time they are high in drugs and mentally ill and if someone tried to woke them up then they got mad and attacked! So a lot of people just walk past them and they probably see this everyday! On big cities people get ignored. Also kindly the New York Post article.
It's obvious to most people, maybe not you, but most people.
❤ beautiful
Oh My God
I have visited NYC many times (from Wales UK), and my go-to hotel is always the New Yorker..(8th Ave/ 34th St) However, having seen many videos recently, I am seriously thinking of having to change locations .. From what I have witnessed here and on other channels, thr 8th Ave area is becoming decidedly 'dodgy'? Any views please? 👍🏴

Pretty sure I’d be caught dead in New York.
😢
You should have seen 8th Avenue near Port Authority in the 80s and 90s 😬. Full cringe.
What happened with the modern new people 💰☑️🕵
ZOO YORK CITY
At The corners of the streets the homeless there are. And the drug using the peoples . I guess that Here kensington is . Newyork 's behind streets
I was literally just there a few weeks sgo walking these same streets. If you cone to NY, the homelessness is definitely present but thats in any major city in America. However it can be jartinyg for those who have glamourized NY from TV and movies. Just know its crowded everywhere and parts like Times Square can be an assault on the senses. Oh and the subway is an attraction in itself 😮
I didn't see any despair, but we know why there are gangsters and homeless along those subway paths. 🍉🏦

We’re gonna have rich people pay for it.
Rich people never pay their fair share of taxes. NEVER. The repugnicants make sure of it.
❤🚍
Ok all you people there need to stay there. We don't eant the real USA vecoming what that is there.
It's interesting that most places have removed benches & places to sit on the street because people sleep there& make it their hm. Older people have no where to sit to rest. Everyone has to sit on the nasty curbs these days.
Looks good, I don't see any homeless! Nice city! 🗽🧢
