You're exactly right and many will call you a hater for saying that. It still troubles the hell out of me how young people misinterpret so much these days. Say something critical and and the reflex is to look at it as hate. This kid has some magnificent skills as a drummer but what he has completely missed is musicianship. Musicianship does NOT mean great technical skill. It means contributing to the music. It means an understanding that the music always comes first. If there is such a thing as group genius, the Beatles had it. Each Beatle NEVER played to stand out above the others. They ALWAYS played to make the music better. The song always came first. This kid has the potential to be a great musician but this is NOT even good musicianship. This drum part sounds so ridiculous with this song it's like watching a group of people playing basketball in the middle of a ballet. It just doesn't fit. This is the Beatles for chrissakes. If this song required any drumming you could bet your life you would hear drums. It would be in the song. There's a reason you don't hear drums. They don't fit. Leonard, flash and spectacle does not make you a good musician. It's OK that you got it wrong. You're young and you will be learning how to improve the rest of your life... if you want to improve. If you want to learn what great musicianship is all about as a drummer, listen to Ringo. The guy was never a great technical drummer but EVERY part he played, in every Beatles song he ever played on, he played exactly what was needed to elevate the song. Remove his playing and put in flashy drumming or just simple basic drumming and each song would just crumble under its own weight.
You're missing the point COMPLETELY. He's not trying to play THE SONG. He is playing TO the song. you may not be musicians or drummers yourselves to get that. He's not trying to emulate Ringo. He's taking liberties. This is being creative. It's like INTENTIONALLY not doing anything Ringo Starr WOULD do. It's a different spin It's not the same way he would play the song if he was trying to cover it in a Beatles cover band. Lighten up. If you ever listen to Fusion Jazz you'd probably throw yourselves off a building
Leave the kid alone, the drum part is unique and interesting. It adds a new dynamic to the song, sounds perfectly in time with nice dragging. The kid is just having fun, calm the hell down. It's literally just a cover on CZcams, how can you make comments on the kid's musicianship from that?@@mrfester42
There is a reason ringo didn't play on the original by the look of it as it clearly doesn't work but the young fella is technically sound but would need to work for the song not his drumming ego if he gets in a band with good songwriters
Big Beatle fan and you did a great job, keep it up !!!!
FUN.... cool perspective
U did itt great boy the other who doesn't like u don't know u need to learn ,,,,
Excellent drum part, don't listen to folk complaining, keep on keeping on

Развлекашки юного мастера под наше дедовское! 😊
И снова классно. Не останавливайся.
This is great
Big things are in the future for you. Keep it going. Keep listening, and keep believing.
Well done buddy... Ignore the haters and keep on playing... D
Wonder what Ringo thinks of it?
Ringo would appreciate this more than someone trying to play it exactly like he did. The young man's not in a Beatles cover band.
Bravo Léo, cela sonne bien de la batterie sur cette chanson. 👍
Спасибо❤
Overplaying is making you lose your timing and your feel.

They are perfectly in time with slight dragging, and that's not really overplaying
