I am very new to the SB19 rabbit hole myself! They got me at GENTO, then CRIMZONE, then I WANT YOU, the rest is a history of losing sleep binge watching about them. And i am not even a fan of Kpop music and looks, i am more of a rock music fan, yet here i am. 😂 In fairness, in my opinion (not imposing on anyone) they have better charm and appeal, they have better voices, not thin, not chipmunk like, and they have KEN a.k.a. FELIP, he is a rockstar. All the boys are amazing, given the very little support they got at first, but you can ot stop pure talent and amazing skills ❤️🔥

I reacted almost the same way when the song first came out. Our father's passing was so recent. So hearing that song which was a tribute to our parents had me thinking back on those days that our parents was still with us, supporting us. This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes. When I first heard of this song it brought tears to my eyes. In one of thier interviews I remeber Pablo said he doesnt mind if people wont remember thier group. As long as thier music reaches other people and will resonate the feelings and message of thier song its enough for them. That is why I love this group.
MAPA refers to Mom and Dad, also we consider our parents as MAP because they guide us to where we should be in the future. They spoke of Mama as our eyes (MAta in Tagalog) to help us see the good and the bad the world may bring us. They also talked of Papa as our feet (PAa in Tagalog) that helped us learn to walk into the right path as they also mentioned about advice (PAyo in Tagalog) as fathers always gives advices to their kids. We need eyes to read the map and feet to go to places.
SB19 songs are always meaningful, well written. Another ballad to check out is LIHAM, live on the Wish USA bus, have english subtitles. For faster upbeat songs, there is What?, Bazinga and Crimzone. ☺️

This song also led me to SB19 last year. Never fails to make me teary eyed whenever I play this song or watch whichever live performance they do. It will remain my most favorite song from them and will always be like a nostalgic remembrance of my own parents now long gone.❤
Hope you can view their performance of tbis song in Wish USA, their live band collaboration with Ben&Ben; their MV of this song in promotion of Selecta Ice Cream; their orchestra version of this song during the Forte Pop Orchestra concert. With SB19, watching their on stage and live performances always feels like a different immersive experience since they have such wonderful vocal talents and strong stage showmanship.

MAPA means MAP also in our country, its a wordplay for MAma and PApa (Parents) and also it as used also as OUR parents is our MAP to our life journey
This is one of my favorite ballads by SB19 but honestly every ballad is just beautiful! When you go down this rabbit hole you'll notice that there are many different versions of this song and each one hits just a little different. During your journey it's OK to watch the same song again and again. Some of my favorite performances are "Sonik Philippines (sung in a museum,") the "Forte Charity Concert (with a full orchestra and virtual Choir,) the "Round Festival" and the "Band Version with Ben & Ben (another Filipino band.)
