If you have a mobility scooter and the seat doesn't come off, you might just be doing it wrong. Many customers call us saying that the seat won't come off on their scooter and that might be becuase of a few different reasons. We'll go through those possible reasons in this video.
Because mobility scooters are often transported on the back of a vehicle lift that connects to the hitch, they are designed a specific way. The seat is very secure to the seat post assembly on most mobility scooters. The male connector located on the bottom of the seat is like a peg. That peg, slides into the female connector, known as the seat post. The seat post has a hole for the peg, but the inside of that hole is usually made of rubber or some sort of similar material that makes it very secure. In fact, sometimes, it even makes it seem like the seat is stuck.
The most common reason that you might not be able to remove a seat is because when you lift up, you are tilting the seat. You must lift STRAIGHT up to avoid issues.
The other reason might be because the seat has under-seat storage that needs to be removed first.
You may also have a scooter that requires a lever to be engaged to remove the seat.
If none of those options are working, you might need to watch a tutorial video or check the user manual for your product. You can also visit our forum to ask a technician a question. Keep in mind our technical team is only available for our existing customers with an order number.
