Catching Doormat Flounder! I Hooked Into Something Huge!

In this video I take y'all to do some surf fishing as well as some inshore fishing! Everything from Bluefish to monster Flounder are caught. I also hook into something that runs me under a pier and breaks me off. Stay tuned to see monster fish caught on a variety of lures!
Catching doormat-sized flounder on artificial lures requires some technique and strategy. Here are some tips to increase your chances:
1. **Choose the Right Lure**: Use soft plastic baits that mimic small baitfish or shrimp, like paddle tails, shrimp imitations, or Gulp! baits. Flounder are ambush predators that like to hide and wait for prey to come close. I also place ProCure on my lures! I usually use the shrimp scent.
2. **Slow and Low**: Flounder are bottom feeders, so keep your lure close to the bottom and move it slowly. Flounder usually strike when the lure is on or near the bottom. Most of my hits come on the pause when I'm slowly reeling my lure in. I catch Flounder when I'm going after Red Drum and Speckled Trout.
3. **Jigging Technique**: Use a jigging motion to make your lure bounce along the bottom. This mimics the movement of a wounded baitfish and can attract flounder.
4. **Use Light Tackle**: Flounder have soft mouths, so it's important to use light tackle to feel the subtle bites. A sensitive rod and light line can help you detect when a flounder bites.
5. **Fish in the Right Areas**: Look for areas with sandy or muddy bottoms near structures like docks, bridges, or oyster beds. Flounder like to hide and blend in with their surroundings.
6. **Be Patient and Persistent**: Catching doormat-sized flounder can take time, so be patient and keep trying different techniques until you find what works.
Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't get discouraged if you don't catch a big flounder on your first try. Good luck!
