    Every pair of salomon shoes i have had have been very comfortable but had ultimately fell to bits, the adidas are still comfortable yet have a lot more sturdy construction making them last longer.

    I've had a pair of those Adidas for 3+ years and love them so much. I've worn the soles down to near smooth and I have one small tear on the outer fabric on one shoe and I have some minor blemishes on them. I just ordered me another pair because I don't want any other shoe for hiking, winter casual shoes, and my daily work shoe in summer as a maintenance technician at a Parks and Rec department. Swift R2 GTX for me.

    I love both brands, but the Continental sole is hands-down the best for the trail. Both shoes run a 1/2 size small for me; Solomons are very narrow if you have a wide foot. I have both, but prefer Adidas by a long way for comfort and the are bullet-proof.

    Just trying the Solomans now after my first two pairs of terrex. The Addiddas lasted for an extreme amount of miles! No blisters. Let’s hope the solomans compare!

    I have worn out 3 pairs of those Adidas (mids though) and ordered my fourth pair today to get through the winter. I have been working in the Salomon all summer and I love both, but the fit and comfort from Adidas get the nod from me! Again both are great shoes just my preference

    Gone through 2 pair of the Adidas Terrex shoes and both had the issue where the shoe laces eventually rips into the toe box area next to the Goretex tab causing a hole where water easily seeps in. I love my Salomons.

    The lace on the Salomon cuts into the Fabric at the bottom, which is white under the black material.
    They never thought of that.

    • @sdemosi
      @sdemosi Před rokem

      I've seen 2 Salomon boots where waterproofing failed due to the quicklace system cutting into the tongue. I owned one and a friend owned the other. Between that and the narrow fit I'm not a fan anymore. They used to be great.

    it would be nice if they do use the same lacing system as the road bike shoes use, which is the round knob to tie/untie so the user do not have that leftover laces on top.

    Don't have the Adidas swift but the AX3 which have the same continental sole and I went to pretty steep mountain trails in the Alps 30-40-45° angle (92'000 feet of them in 2020) stood on sloped rocks, climbed snowy paths with them never felt like the sole was giving up on me unless it was iced/snowy unreasonable for all season shoes, the fit is also great (214 miles with them also in 2020)
    the salomon I previously had on the other hand seemed "hard" and the fit was too small I kept getting blisters with them maybe a larger size (so 2 above my size) would have helped maybe not they felt like a "foot cage" to me while Adidas are a non-event

    Ive owned 4 pairs of salamon boots/shoes. Always just order the most expensive pair with the thought that you get what you pay for. Ive never worn a boot/shoe that fits as well as salamon. Thats just my personal experience and thats whybi keep buying them. But... Salamons initial quality is short lived and every pair ive owned has fallen appart faster than my keen and merrell boots. And the shoes dont last as long as my nikes, adidas, under armour... pretty much any other brand lasts longer

Salomon with chevron contra grip sole its a nightmare to walk on wet stones even in the city where is a lot o natural stone pavement its very slippery. With adidas i didint have eny of those problems. Adidas fells more confortable on fet then Salomons for long walks. I keep the pair of salomons just for gym otherwise i probably trow them ...

    I have a pair of R2’s for work, and beat the holy horseshit out’ve em. They served me well, but it’s time. I bought a pair of the XA PRO 3D V8 GTX’s because I liked the design of the quick lace system. Then I saw a pair of the R2’s on sale, and bought them, too. 😂 Anyways, I guess I’ll be doin my own comparison on em. Thinking I might start hiking, after the 300 I just spent.

    There's really no possible comparasion between Salomon XA Pro 3D and Adidas honestly 😆 We are talking about No1 outdoor brand here. Technologies used in Salomon shoes are way way superiror. XA PRO 3D will fit to your foot way better and support it way better. 3D chasis only is a big advantage 🤷🏼‍♂️ Lace is way way way better. Overall Salomon lasts longer too. Only thing is that XA PRO is more used for hike than trail run. For trail run I would always recommend Speedcross 5 GTX rather than XA PRO 🤷🏼‍♂️ I'm not Salomon only fan, I am just speaking from experience after working with them for long time. Anyways good review. And yep you're correct, support is way better in Salomon. I only do not agree on comfort part, after some time XA PRO 3D is way more comfy than at the start and first few days. But comfort comes as personal preference though, you are correct. What can also work is X Ultra which is a bit softer in the heal area for those who do not like "hard" sneakers. XA PRO is also not for those who have wide feet. For wide feet reccomendation goes for XA PRO 3D V8 Wide GTX 🙃 Good content here bro 🤙🍻😎

    Solomon shoes have a problem of tearing in the front side of foot, mine opened so much you can see the foot inside, like alot. The problem here is that, newer version got damaged so much quickly and it looked like materials were worse in the newer version so i had to switch back to older shoe, they are great to walk in them and trust me i made thousands MILES on a trail with them But they open up at the front side of foot. Dont know about this one though but because of that reason i would try adidas.

    Hi, I am looking into buying one of these models, I want them for walking in a rainy town and
    although I like the looks of the adidas more than the salomon's it feels to me that the sole of the adidas could wear away faster than the one of the salomon in that context of streets and asphalt roads. Am I right? Thank you very much.

    • @superactionguy6000
      @superactionguy6000  Před 4 lety +2

      Hello, and thanks for watching! I wear my Swift's every day, and walk a lot in them, both in rain and on dry pavement. I wish I could attach a photo here but I can't so words will have to work. The sole's looks great still. Not a lot of wear. I attribute that to the ContiTech elastomer formula they are using for the sole. I think it has a high resistance to abrasion. Bottom line, they haven't worn quickly, I've put a lot of miles on them, and they still look new.

      The insert measures 5/8" at the thickest location and down to a 1/4" at the thinnest. At the thickest location I measured from the top of the insole down to the bottom, which may not be the actual thickness of the insole at the heel cup.
