We can compress the big size files into very small size and we can easily transfer it to anyone,
If we want to archive the old logs, old data on linux server, we can compress it using gzip and tar command so that it will not take much space of your Linux server.

बढ़िया विडियो! जैसे बताया आपने, हमने किया। सब जादू की तरह हुआ। मगर सात जीबी किताबेँ थीँ, उन्हेँ tar cvf करने पर महज़ चार जीबी तक ही कम्प्रेस हो पाया। फिर हासिल हुई फ़ाइल को ज़िप किया तो उतना ही रह गया।

In /home/list/ there are 10,000+ files., in that directory i need to tar specific date range for file image.png* and tar file should save to different directory , say /in/master

Compress : gzip, uncompress : tar is it right
using gzip, you can compress and uncompress both
using tar, you can compress a whole folder and uncompress too
you can use either
