    Another tip for the shore fishing is get a long rod about 8 feet and a good spinning reel with 8 pound braid line!! You need all the distance to reach the middle of the lake. The trout usually hangout in the deepest part of the lake. For Bass, you need senko or paddle tail swimbait. The bass hide in the weed and you need weedless lure to catch one.

      Just one tiny tip. Have you ever tried leach for bass? Give it a shot and you say good by to any kind of lure :)

    • @raychoi4994
      @raychoi4994 Před 5 lety +1

      Sorry, you can't really use bait in weed. All those pesky panfish and weed will get your live bait before a bass take it and you won't get any reaction strike from bait. Maybe you should give some popular lure a fair chance too.

    you should look into using circle hooks if you prefer to have the chance to release a fish you do not want as they usually set on the lip and not deep gut that kills them

    Awesome video! I always fish here in the summer because it’s the closet place to wear I live. This is the first time that I’ve heard about trout fishing at heart lake. So I’m excited for the coming summer. Quick question though, do you know when they stock the trouts?

    hi are there any good fishing spots in GTA, i caught some small rock bass at heart lake, bluegill, but not the rainbow trout, cause i used 20lbs test line, instead of 4lb test line, and my hook is massive, thanks my friend i learned something today.

    I went to fishing at heart lake today, got 7-8 black crappie and rock bass using spinner from shore. Tired to get a largemouch different lures like spinning bait, wacky senko, and bass jig,not a single bite, searched along banks, casted into weeds and falling trees etc. Is it because of the season or I am using wrong techniques, really want to get a bass there

    • @TasteofCanadianOutdoors
      @TasteofCanadianOutdoors  Před 5 lety +2

      Usually I don't go there for bass, but your best bet for bass in there is leech. Minnow works best but as far as I know you are not allowed to use live bait in that lake.

    Can I ask a few questions?
    How and where to catch Large mouth in this lake?
    Is it good to fish for trout in this time of year in heart lake?

    • @TasteofCanadianOutdoors
      @TasteofCanadianOutdoors  Před 5 lety +2

      For large mouth you are much better off with boat. Move slowly close to the shore with boat and cast close to the corners. I cannot pick a specific place, but they are everywhere. My father once pulled a 4 pound bass out of this lake.
      This time of the year is great for trout, but bass season is not open yet. I personally stay away from Bass when I have the option to catch trout :)

      @@larrylai5136 One more secret about this lake. You can catch massive canal catfish in that lake. If you know how to tie spawn sack, then prepare a couple of them, but instead of fish egg, fill it with chicken liver. Cast as far as you possibly can and sit and relax. It is quite rewarding this time of the year :)

    • @TasteofCanadianOutdoors

    Limit is only 2 actually , rainbow trout is 2 fish with sport license research it! Don’t spread false news , please try to not keep every fish you catch either especially bass or other natural reproducing fish. It’s not cool to spot burn aswell there is enough ppl in Brampton that will clear out the pond ! Good vid none the less

    • @AlirezaAliabadi
      @AlirezaAliabadi Před 4 lety

      I wish it was that simple. Trust me, every year I go there I ask them at the kiosk about the limit and I get different answer. That specific date I also asked them at the kiosk and the girl called the office and confirmed the limit.
      I wait for the next season and if I go there again, I record the phone conversation and include it in the video.
      Thank you for the comment though :)

      @TasteofCanadianOutdoors  Před 5 lety +1

      Sure, the video is filmed at 43°44'21.6"N 79°47'38.2"W. By the way, it is September and this time of the year you have better luck with deep diver spinner bait for Rainbow Trout. It is a general advice but trouts are moody and they change their habits every day.

  • @christianb8228
    @christianb8228 Před 6 lety +1

    Which powerbait did you use?

    • @TasteofCanadianOutdoors
      @TasteofCanadianOutdoors  Před 6 lety +1

      They are all the same and different colors are only for marketing. I cannot even remember. But on that day only the first one was on Powerbait. The other two were on night crawlers. At the end if you can long enough you catch them.
      Now if you want to use Powerbait in general there are two types. Some of them float and some of them sink. I suggest regardless of the color and flavor, get one of each and see which one works better on that day.

    • @TasteofCanadianOutdoors
      @TasteofCanadianOutdoors  Před 6 lety +1

      @TasteofCanadianOutdoors  Před 5 lety +2

      Extremely hard to say. I generally don't fish in October but if I were you, I would have tried worn and long casts. Another suggestion is renting a boat and using spinner bait. You need to go well equipped and play every card and see what works.
