GTS Celebrity Constellation (formerly Constellation) is a Millennium-class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group. She was renamed in May 2007 to add the "Celebrity" prefix, joining her three sister ships: Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Summit, and Celebrity Millennium.
She was built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. The ship is powered by a COGES power plant of gas turbines and a steam turbine providing up to 60 megawatts for the electric systems and two 19 MW Rolls-Royce/Alstom MerMaid azimuth thrusters for propulsion. In 2007, an additional diesel engine was fitted as a fuel-saving measure. The ship can run on any combination of the gas turbines or diesel. In port, she generates electrical power from the diesel.

I had the good fortune to cruise on Conny in May. As an experienced cruiser of 37 cruises so far, I can honestly say Celebrity are the best cruise line, and Constellation was the most fantastic cruise ever.

Beautiful video as always! this ship is a favoritie with Celebrity repeat cruisers (myself included) so maybe that explains why the passengers seem older (me, too!) I especially love the art on this ship . The Chiluly chandelier is spectacular in the afternoon sun, and the gorilla statue on the pool deck is quirky fun.
thinking of doing a transatlantic crossing next year on this ship.

I sailed on this ship when it was almost new and it's a better ship now, overall. There have been so many changes. If you like specialty restaurants, there are more of them though I did like the original one a lot. The Cellar Masters and Sushi on 5 area was one big lounge where not much happened. The Martini Bar was different, this one came from the Solstice ships. In fact, most of the new areas are from the Solstice ships. I don't love the new Rendezvous. They took all the color out of the space. But there's a lot more music on the ship and varied music than when I was on it and that's the biggest change I'm noticing. I kind of don't understand the show going on in the observation lounge as that's a disco area but maybe the disco happened after the show.
I did notice the ratty looking railing on the balcony. I guess Celebrity doesn't varnish the ones in private staterooms? Otherwise, the stateroom looked good.

Great video. I am taking a cruise on Celebrity Constellation and have a question about their Onboard App. Can I text other passengers using the Celebrity Onboard App without purchasing the onboard wifi? They are not staying in my cabin and did not originally book at the same time. If you or anyone can answer this it would be much appreciated. Thanks
Wi-Fi onboard Celebrity Constellation was too slow and i was told that the ship was too old, Wi-Fi package isn’t not worth buying for sure. I didn’t use the chat app but if it’s available you should definitely use it instead of buying Wi-Fi package. Have a nice cruise!

Yes on 8th floor. Donated books go on shelfs when you finish one.
The Millennium class ships and Solstice class ships have libraries. For some stupid reason, the Edge ships don't have them.

It's exactly the same as the summit. What is different on this ship then the summit?
The Millennium, Summit, Infinity, and Constellation are essentially the same.
@@DOUGandNIKI There are some differences. But they've all been changed a lot. The Millennium and Summit have been "revolutionized" so they have new staterooms and some areas have taken on the more muted neutral colors of the Edge ships. I don't like what they've done to the Dining room on those two ships. I guess the same things will happen to the Infinity and Constellation.

Beware! They will keep $100 per guest if you book a future cruise onboard and later decide to cancel it! We just lost $200.
@@ellegee4683 Thank you! They did let us apply it toward another cruise after we complained. Next time they will not. That’s what they told us,
I always purchase insurance when booking future cruises and was told that if we couldn’t make it, it would apply to another trip.
Unless you never plan to cruise on Celbrity again there would be no point in cancelling. Booked onboard reservations can be pushed into the future indefinitely. I have a cruise I booked onboard in 2018 that I just keep pushing forward until I am ready.
@@joshuasiegler7901 not always the case. Some of the deposits are non refundable. You must read the fine print.
Better to just put the $100 deposit down for future cruise without booking one on board. If you decide not to book, they will refund the $100 after 1 year
