    You can use small exercise dumbells (I use 3 lbs) in each hand and to do the same movements without sticks..really helps to develop strength and can also be used as improvised weapons. You are right..you don't need sticks if you are motivated. Thank you for your videos...I've learned alot from you

    My left wrist is so much worse than my right, this is crazy. Gonna have to work for a while to get the left wrist to the level of the right

    I used to train a lot with weapons and I went to an Aikido class and the lady couldn't lock my wrist because it was too flexible.

    You are right, I initially started stick training with pipes of my floor lamp and it didn't hinder the process in any way

    Thank you very much Sir,
    this is very helpful. Very difficult to rotate sticks due to my wrist stiffness and not flexible at all.
    I’ve started my Arnis training by watching your video. Fantastic drills.
    Many loves from Malaysia.

    I'm not a Kali guy, I just use my sticks to work the flexibility of my shoulders and wrists. I like you tips ;-)

    Where can you get sticks like this? Great video!

  • @aegolk
    @aegolk Před 4 lety

    Kudos. A question though. What I have lying around a house are 2 pairs of steel sticks: "light n easy" 53cm d2cm 1.25kg each, and "heavy n hard" (hardly usable, for the near future) 70+cm d2.5cm 2.5kg each. That's the tool, no light wood for me. Wrists are kinda tight but working out. Lotsa rotations, stuff like in the video, the target is basic strength flexibility conditioning and learning the moves. So, what does the weight and hard inertia change? Basicly speed, and if "I'm ok with it, I can control it all right, my joints and tendons are ok with it, even loving it, and I'm sticking with my sticks till this steel flies and goes whoosh whoosh" is taken for granted, all the exercises are exactly the same, just feeling slower and taking more effort. Same stuff, just bit harder ye?
    Also, why not do rotations like 8 lying flat, like moebius band (can go tight like rotations for wrist work or spread out into sweeping diagonal strikes for ummm strikes?), either 2 hands simultaneously in opposite directions (right to left or left to right) (and either inwards or outwards), or with/without delay (synchronously/asynchronously, going together or one after another, again alternating when left leads or right leads) in the same direction (to the left or to the right, outwards or inwards)? Isn't this much more diverse and interesting than 20-50 non-changing rotations in a same old plane with same wrist positioning? Maybe I'm wrong and sticking with only 1 rotation for lotsa reps is perfectly well for "working out the bad spots on the wrist", to make it good strong and flexible. Will try it out.

    Dear Sir, please if you only allow me to say to all, this is a very nice video, good work, everyone can get an update to powers sences and skills with this form by exercise, can feel the loyalty of a Lion, can feel the move of the Dragon, can feel the speed of an Eagle, can feel the powerfull bite of the Snake... if it only have a radio nearby to play music and listen more of the Black Label Society a latest good band with nice covers with osome motorbikes, the American Flag , skulls , fires and if we really have a thought to up down it end, how we build the world, we can see, it wasn't Jesus that build up the world, it was the American Flag ....
