That Jovi clay dried to such a fine pure white and I love that. I think the little house came out adorable, and so delicate looking. I'm impressed.

Okok I know I'm really Really late
but I have used this clay too
And here are some Things i knew:
When you choose the colors, White is the best choice since its very very powdery You wouldn't want blood looking clay on your hands wouldn't you (Terracotta)
I personally think gray is the exact same as White so if you only had to choose any from terracotta and gray if you don't have white they yeah white
(note Terracotta is also a bit hard to paint)
Ok so now done using the air dry clay you store it as usual in a cabinet hoping to you use it for another day, that other thay would be unfortunate because The clay dries really fast, (NOTE I opened it and it was exposed to air)
    what do you do?
I have found a way to recycle it and have used it again today!
    Steps:
    1. Break the clay into SMalL piece
in a bowl (dont turn them into dust or huge pieces of rocks)
    2. Boil Water or use hot water and pour it into the bowl and stir
    3. wait for a couple of minutes
    (10+)
    4. Take it out and try to:
If its too soft: Harden it for A LITTLE BIT ONLY
If its too hard: Leave it in the water or change the water
if its ok: Congratulations! You now have Air dry workable Clay!!

Hey Claybuddies! I recieve some questions about Jovi Clay and here are some of my answers.
    1. Can I use Jovi for Chibi doll?
Yes, I know some clayist who uses jovi for sculpting and chibi figurines.
    2. Have you tried using the 2 other colors of Jovi?
No, not yet and I’ll be trying it too, soon!
    3. How did you describe your experience on using Jovi Clay?
I really had fun, especially when I’m adding another layer of clay then blending it together ( 13:03 and 10:38 ). It’s so satisfying! 😍
    4. Will you recommend it to someone who wants to try claying?
Yes, you can easily buy them and the price for the grams you’ll have, not bad.
And ofcourse, for me we have to try it first ourselves because maybe what works for you wont work for me or vise versa.
We really have to experience it ourselves and from there we can decide if this medium is for me or not. And sometimes it’s also a matter of practice, if you really like it you have practice alot, do claying more often beacuse as we always say practice makes perfect! 🙂
*On the video and my answers are my personal opinion base on I experienced as a first time user of Jovi Clay.
Spread NO Hate, Only Love and Happiness. Happy Claying! ❤️

the thing is, this clay is the only clay i can find and is really cheap but i have few issues and i cant tell if its just me or not. first, it cracks alot! molding it into a shape is reallt difficult because of that. and then i have to put slip or clay over it again which is a hassle but i didnt see you having that problem. and another thing is that it dries quite fast..

Yes you can use watercolor but using acrylic paint is better, it sticks well on the clay project maybe because of its permanent nature.

Hello, thank you for sharing! So I guess a clay like that is not really suitable for making chibi dolls/charms? Bummer as it's widely available and not pricey.

    • @clayandpastel
      @clayandpastel  Před 3 lety +3

For me not for chibi keychains but for chibi figurines maybe yes, I know some people who use this for sculpting figurines 😊

    Here's a funny story I wanna share.
When I was 12, I wanted to try using air-dry clay instead of modeling clay. Soon, I managed to buy a small pack of white Jovi.
But due to all the powder and residue it was leaving in the my hands, I got so pissed off, that I threw it away, and stopped clay modeling again. (though the reason why I stopped was a different reason)

I understand that feeling, maybe you can try some other air dry clays and one of these days you'll find the best medium for you❤
