The new version is dull and derivative.
This is why Necromunda rocks. Even if we ignore the lore, the minis are always flavourful and awesome. Thanks for the new traitor guard, chaos cultists and mysterious hive scum. I'm also not mad at the idea of these being scouts for a fringe SM chapter. My hype level for Ash Wastes is beyond reasonable.
I so wish they would have released all the (Recent) Necromunda stuff in plastic. The UNderwater Caste guys (particularly the big diver dude) and the Van Saar Arachna-Rig? Stupid. FUcking. Resin. Such a shame.
As an admech player I was planning using then as scouts XD
@@captainsewerrat I tried so many times working with resin and it's brutal. It doesn't melt and always feels flimsy regardless of any glues I have tried. I like to convert and kitbash a lot too so it's even worse. I spent hours on a small conversion with a delaque torso and the older renegade resint torso's. The slightest wrong touch and it shatters apart even though I used greenstuff and super glue to hold things in place. At least the weapon upgrades came in plastic eventually.
Honestly that sounds like a you problem more than anything else. I've had great results
I was thinking perfect Nurgle cultists with these guys. The rebreathers and night vision goggles will look cool alongside some death guard with the same aesthetic. Something to bridge the gap between poxwalker and human

This is why my IG regiments are taken from Necromunda; the models have much more character than anything GW has pumped out for the main IG line for ages. I use them as double duty for Necromunda and Kill Team (9th is too expensive for my wallet at the moment)! Looking forward to seeing these other videos of yours Kiri...

This is super anal, but it bugs me when people say things like Necromunda aren’t GW. Aren’t they all the same designers, just one is manufactures by their resin casting division?

Sorry if I’m being a dick, I’d just thought this for a while and you happened to remind me. Are they handled by different design teams? Either way, I agree that Necromunda has a distinct style from main 40k
One detail I love is the magazine on the rifle.
It looks like an original magazine has been modified to take different rounds to suit working parts that were salvaged and added to the rifle at some point. Like a 15-round 5.56mm magazine has been cut open and had a 30-round 5.7mm magazine welded inside because the weapon furniture will only take a 5.56 mag but the working parts and barrel have been replaced with salvaged 5.7mm parts.
It's difficult to explain what I mean, but gun people will hopefully understand? Like an AR-15 that has been converted to fire Five seveN ammo, but this is a proper ghetto conversion job.
It makes me think of Dune's stillsuits (idk what they looked like in the movie, only read the books), and given how much Dune is in 40k, and how thematically accurate would this be for Ash Wastes, I think this comparison can't be that far off

I just hope the Hive Spyrers do also make a return in updated plastic kits one day, considering now that the Ash Wastes Nomads have returned.

Necromunda has been hitting it hard for a while. Some of the sculpts are amongst the best gw/fw have done. My only complaint is that I wish more people took notice of the game and there was more video content about it.
There’s a mix between mad max, Dune and the sand people from Star Wars are pretty cool. Love the model
Looks like the basis of a fine Adeptus Mechanicus scavenging force. Hopefully they will be scaled appropriately to Imperial Guard and Primaris models, the current base-line Skitarii are a bit on the short side.
GW said skitarii are the new scale for regular humans though...
@@matthiuskoenig3378 They seem closer to tall Jawas, or 11- or 12-year-old humans when placed next to guardsmen. And honestly I always pictured them as bit taller than that what with their fast-moving cybernetic legs and all.
Maybe guardsmen themselves aren't regular human size?

Never have I heard a more true statement. I just bought the sisters box before the price hike...my god the models are great. Just when I thought I was out after the beginnings of the OG marine purge...I'm brought back in by the new shinies...just when I thought I was going out.
I personally would say that the aparature is a rebreather that also collects the moisture in the breathed air and purifies it to prevent the guy from running out of water and dehydrating.
Made me think they were channelling their inner Dark Future!

This looks amazing, I sure hope there will be some vehicles following this, and I would love a squad of these dudes. I tied to get started with Necromunda before and failed (but the minis I bought will be merged in to existing 40K armies once I get around to painting them so they will not go to vaste), but I think this might be a way to get me in to the game...
Necromunda has great models but an overabundance of books that makes all other gw games look light weight. But great model none the less

It's the sort of thing that would make me look at necromunda, again but the last time I played necromunda y2k was a thing.
I have enough other games on my plate, but they are similar enough to what I was thinking about doing for my kow nightstalkers, scarecrows that I am genuinely curious about seeing gw's take.

GW don't reveal enough things at once during these sorts of crap reveals that they do. Drip-fed marketing is the worst. I would've rather just seen the entire squad. It tells me that they don't have enough things to show off. How a multi-million pound company in 2022 doesn't have enough to show at the biggest tabletop game convention is beyond me.

Hey ya know what i might not forget about and actually get? a Primarch, remember them? y'know, the main things that could drive the plot forward, cause its not like Yvraine or the Silent King have been up to much and Chaos is a joke and Guillimans already outnumbered as it is so can we get a Lion Model and maybe some stuff for the Main First Founding Chapters? the Black Templars are great and its nice to see them get their own stuff again but Dark Angels, Blood Angels and Space Wolves are all still a thing that lack anything to make Primaris actually look unique to those chapters.

@@seanread5556 hey, the other factions still need there refreshes, I get that (especially nids and eldar) but the entire point of the destroying Cadia, splitting the galaxy in two, introducing the Ynnari bringing back Guilliman, Magnus, Mortarion, Abbadon and even the Silent King, yet so far, the Ynarri haven't rly done anything, I'd I've expected them to maybe have a truce here and there to try and deal with chaos in at least some cases, we've got some stories and campaigns that haven't really amounted to anything and even the silent King is still pulling strings.
Now, the easiest way to make some more things actually happen would be to bring back some actual big names, ideally Primarchs but hell every faction could use some more characters, Gaz and the orks are still just a threat that hasn't amounted to anything and it doesn't seem like he could since all it takes to kill him now apparently is a non-primaris Captain, hell it's a wonder Guilliman hasn't just sent a Primaris chapter to finish Gaz off.
My point is, we need named characters to make things happen and ideally things beyond Guilliman Vs some Chaos Primarch, cause I don't see Guilliman being put up against Gaz, Abby or god forbid a Tau commander, at least assuming they want anyone to believe Guilliman could loose.
Imagine not using the wider backdrop of 40K as a springboard for your own games.
