    Hi Amanda, I have to say thank you for these detailed videos. Several of these brands are new to me, because when I googled "best planners", the same come up again and again. With your tips, I have more alternatives. I used Erin Condren last year and was really happy, but the cost including shipping and handling outside of the US isn't justifiable, and in a way I'm happy about that, because I'm now discovering a bunch of others! It's Feb 2020 and my life is a an unorganized mess since I still didn't get a planner (lol, indicisiveness), but the goal is to get one ordered by the end of the week. Subbed, liked and thank you :)

    I have started watching your channel about 1 year ago and now that I'm in the search for my 2020 I have binged watched your channel and IGTV 😅 Even though you don't talk much about your personal life in your channel or IG... You are an inspiration to me! Whenever you talk about homeschooling your kids or I see pics of them in your planners makes me admire you for making your relationship with them a priority in your life. I have 2 kids under 5 and even when watching your planner videos I feel inspired to be a better mom!

      Jaqueline, this made me tear up. Truly! Thank you so much. My boys are my #1 priority and I am glad that shows through. If I don't give my 100% as a Mother then nothing else I do in this life matters. It's absolutely the most important job there is. You are in the thick of toddler hood...those are hard days....You've got this! Have a wonderful holiday season with your family. And thank you so much for lifting my spirits with this sweet compliment. Mothering is a hard job, and I have definlty been weary. Thank you again!

    My top three for 2020 are:
    1- MakseLife Horizontal (I realized that I just really love the horizontal layout. I divide it into sections, and it works so well with my brain!)
    2- Erin Condren Colorful Horizontal
    3- Ashley Shelley
    Honestly, I wish I could just have them all, and use the one that I'm into at the moment. 😂

    1. Mom On The Go (most beautiful and very well structured I found).
    2. Hobonichi Weeks Mega for notes and appointments at work, and because is portable.
    3. Hobonichi 5 years to keep all important events in one place

    1. Personal Planner! I am so glad that I watched your review of their products and took the leap - I LOVE the customization! I have an A5 vertical that I use at work, an A4 hourly that I'll be using for work in 2020, and an A4 vertical to use at home for fitness and wellness journaling. And I just won one of their holiday giveaways, so I'm trying one of their new layouts to use as a budget planner and for grocery/meal prep.
    2. Jane's Agenda for bullet journaling - not into the discs, but I love her notebooks! I have a dot grid spiral bound notebook that I use as a bullet journal at work to write out tasks, projects, etc. It's helpful to only see one page at a time.
    3. Leuchtturm1917 for bullet journaling - in an ideal world, I would only use Leuchtturm for my bullet journal. The book style doesn't work for me right now, but it still holds a special place in my heart.

      @@AmandasFavorites They do! Ooo I never thought about them having a daily. That might work for some people, although they'd likely have to split it between two volumes.
      I hear you - bullet journaling doesn't work for everyone. I cannot use it as my main planner because I forget to migrate things and hate doing a weekly setup over and over again. Leuchtturms do make great journals! The way the paper feels after writing on it is so satisfying 😀
      Thank you! Happy holidays to you, as well!

    I used the Erin Condren Petite planner this year and was planning on using it in 2020, until I happened upon a day planner from Paulo Coelho ("The Alchemist") and it's a bound Daily planner. It is beautifully illustrated and has a variety of quotes throughout the pages. ECLP Hourly is what I live in every day all day. I started with this one in November using the colorful choice. I am going to try keeping a Happy Planner on my office desk for tracking specific things each day to make my weekly summary easier to pull together and see how that goes. I thought about using the EC Daily in the binder system too. I actually have both and just need to see what is best for work tracking. I don't want that level of detail in my life planner when it just lives at the office.

      Plum Paper is a great planner. I used them right around the time I started this channel. I really grew to not love their paper (it was too slick for my taste), but they have since changed to Mohawk paper and I haven't felt the new paper. I also grew very tired of their same colors year after year they didn't change. That's the short answer;) They also didn't have a good referral system and never gave me product to review. So I really didn't feel like spending my own money to review something that I didn't use. If they wanted to work with me...I would love to share their products because they have such unique and customizable layouts. And paper and colors is just a preference and some people love theirs;)

I don't love their colors, and they haven't changed in years. I also didn't love how slick their paper was...they have since changed to Mohawk paper. I haven't used their new paper so I don't know how that feels.

    Thanks for all your hard work, Amanda! I haven’t used a paper planner for years and my needs are pretty simple daily, so I am thinking weekly is the way to start. I like vertical and don’t think I need hourly. I have ordered Power Sheets as well, but don’t actually have them yet. My question is, will I want room to pull things from Powersheets into my planner like the Makselife or Inkwell, or is Powersheets pretty self contained?

    • @AmandasFavorites
      @AmandasFavorites  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi & welcome:) Powersheets is pretty self contained. You don't need anything else to go with. The only thing I pull from it in my planner is what I want to get done pertaining to my goals or habits that week;) But if you really want to always be in your goals weekly and have them in your face....Makselife is a great planner that can be a companion to Powersheets. However, with you having not used paper planners for a while and stating that your needs are simple...I would go with something simpler;) Makselife is pretty hefty bc it has the entire goal system and weekly check ins combine with your weekly planning. I hope that helps?! I have used EC weekly Vertical Colorful with my PowerSheets for the past year and it has worked out perfectly!

    Could you review over orange circle studio planners ? Specifically the weekly Medium Spiral paneers (17 months) I recently bought the pink one from here and I’m waiting for it to arrive. However, I haven’t found any videos that really go in to detail how these could be used. Also I’ve never really been a planner user so I’ve been trying to find ideas to incorporate my school work/ work/ sorority events and other activities in to a planner that will be set up easy to understand

      @@AmandasFavorites I just started watching your reviews AFTER buying the clever fox one. I'm a total fan and thinking i need another planner like the weekly hobonichi one to track my mileage...i usually us Day Timer's 24 hr/day that is broken out by month. I also want to track the kids schedule which is why I'm trying the Clever Fox Pro series.
      i think i like unbound best, but I kind love how you can get your name engraved on the momgenda. My friend was also telling me about the Parent Planner from Blu Sky (Day Designer) have you seen it. Its limited availability I think.

    Thank you for all the Info.
    I also watched your video on the daily planners, very interesting.
    I'm looking for a planner that is not as chunky as the spiral and disc bound, so pretty much like a regular journal format and the weeks beginning on mondays.
    I really liked the clever fox daily but the weeks starts on Sundays, so that is a no go...I get so confused by that.
    The passion planner daily was my second choice but it can only be purchased in a cute color four pack or in black for a single planner. I really don't like the black leather look in this case, but for trying this planner it would be a big commitment to buy the whole four pack.
    I was considering just making my own custom version in an empty journal, but I don't have a a lot of time to spare either.
    I'm sorry this must sound incredibly complicated.
    Do you have any advice for me?
    I'm just not sure which route to go.
    I've purchased the brand new "flourish planner" a few weeks ago, it was expensive, it is very big and spiral bound, but the my biggest issue is the lack of space in the weekly overview and no space for real daily planning.
    It is just not working for me. It has a really nice subtle design like all of Bonnie Christine's work, but after trying to adjust to it for 10 days,
    I'm looking fo find a new one that has the vertical daily overview with times.

    • @AmandasFavorites
      @AmandasFavorites  Před 4 lety +1

      So you want a daily....and the only thing holding you back from Passion Planner Daily is that you would have to get black....I would still go for it and try it in black! If that is the one that looks the most like what you want. Very Similar to Passion Planner Daily is Monk Manual. Both Passion Planner and Monk Manual let you print out the daily page to try for FREE before you purchase:) Best of luck....I know it's hard to find just the right one!

      These are my personal favorites right now. I don't make any affiliate money off 3 out of my top 5....so these really are the ones I personally love. Reviews are planners I love, and then the reviews that are sponsored are always labeled that in the description of the video. I don't make much affiliate money (people don't remember to buy through my links a lot of the time.) Affiliate links is definlty not how I decide if I will do a video. There is more to it than that, but that is the short answer;)

    Brand new to the planner community. I’ve bought a 2020 ECLP for personal main use, a deluxe monthly for budgeting and a blue sky planner for work in the office. I’m looking forward to using the EC planners and although I like the layout and appearance of the blue sky planner, the paper quality is just not there (can only use ball pen) and it’s bugging me. So I’m researching for another one. I need it to be weekly horizontal, 8x11.5 with very minimal space for Saturday/Sunday since I don’t work those days. The layout and paper weight (it says 70lbs or 100-ish GSM) of the Posy Paper planner on Etsy seems like a fit for me. What are your thoughts? Any other suggestions for me? Thanks in advance!

    • @AmandasFavorites
      @AmandasFavorites  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for sharing your line up:) My suggestion for a big 8x11.5 vertical is look into Plum Paper (if you don't mind paper that is a bit smoother...it doesn't have "tooth" (texture) like the EC paper....but it is good and thick. They have several layouts to choose from....I don't have them all in my head...but one might work for you. I am not that familiar with Posy Paper. I did a review for them way back when I started my channel. here's the link:
      czcams.com/video/bv3Rh35hnU4/video.html&app=desktop
      I can't remember what their paper felt like because it was about 2 years ago...but I am sure I showed a pen test and talked about it in the video. Sorry I don't have more suggestions on that one:) oh, one more....Personal Planner....has amazing paper and a bigger size I have 2 review videos on them. I don't remember what layouts they have. Here are those videos On Personal Planner:

      @@AmandasFavorites OMG, thank you for the suggestions! I just spent an hour looking at both Plum Paper and Personal Planner. Plum Paper's layout doesn't really work for me and there will be a lot of wasted space but one of the Personal Planner's layout does work great for my needs and i absolutely LOVE the option to shade every other line in the weekly view (my poor eyes) which i have not seen in other planners. i do not like the $60 price tag (especially after 2 EC planners but Posy Paper would be ~$45-50 anyway...) but i recognize the value of customization to fit my needs so that i won't be annoyed. Haha! I will keep my eyes on them for any Xmas sale.

      @@AmandasFavorites Final update - received my Personal Planner (11 days between putting in an order and holding it in my hands in the US). It is everything i need for my specific use and the large size is great. it is a little thicker and heavier than expected but it's because of the thick paper which i like. i'm not a fan of the slippery paper or the quality of the coil (looks a bit cheap and flimsy) but i can live with it for now. i think it's a good planner for the value overall for my needs (it checks every box that's most important for me). thanks again for introducing this planner to me!
