  • Bastarda, based in Warsaw, is a group of three musicians (Paweł Szamburski - clarinet, Tomasz Pokrzywiński - cello, and Michał Górczyński - contrabass clarinet) with close ties to the Lado ABC independent music scene and the Lado Cultural Association. Coming from different backgrounds (free improvised, classical and modern jazz), the group plays new and original interpretations of medieval music.
Predulcis eurus is an improvised composition based on one of the songs attributed to Petrus Wilhelmi de Grudencz (1392-after 1452). The recording was made on 4 July 2019 during the SoundMe concert entitled “Petrus Wilhelmi de Grudencz: Contrasting Visions of the Past”, organized in Basel during the Annual Medieval and Renaissance Music Conference. Two Associate Partners of the SoundMe project - ensembles La Morra and Bastarda - took part in this concert, interpreting music by Petrus Wilhelmi in two different ways: as a historically informed performance and a contemporary improvisation.
