Mr. Galway...I saw you perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC in 1980. Wonderful. I still play the songs today from the Annies song album you released then. They were songs you could sing to, play to, and people could understand them. I am disappointed in many young flutists who feel the more difficult to play and to listen to is what should be performed. WRONG. Its unfortunately one of the reasons I stopped playing. Couldn't handle the performance of songs that stunk and made people go "HUH?" Thank you again for all your inspiration and the many you have influenced. Your legend will live a very long time.

Interestingly, I find it is very easy to listen to a flute choir and have the motivation to play sucked out of you real quick.

If flute players breathe on the pads that is what makes them sticky then they use rough paper to clean off the pads! Becomes a vicious circle then the pad wears out. Human breath is sticky so this is not really the best thing to do to your flute. If the pads are seated correctly flutists should not have to resort to these tricks.

You should dye your hair and beard. You look young still but for the white hair. My hubby has the same issue.
