Our dog Jack hiding from fireworks in the washing machine

Sometimes 4th of July fireworks are too much for Jack and he paces around the house looking for a place to hide. Usually if I hear a noise in the basement it's just him trying to get behind the dryer or something. This time he decided to hide inside the washing machine instead.

Sadly, Jack is always doing extreme things to get away from the sound of thunder or fireworks. He's always finding a new hiding spot or digging at something during late spring / early summer. It's both sad and exhausting.
