Fun fact: the main project, Honour&Glory, is being built exactly like they would’ve built it back in Belfast. They literally are building the hull by the plate, with each plate being cut and placed just like they actually did over 110 years ago. That tells you that the team is taking this project very seriously, and aren’t messing around.
This demo has taken over 10 years to develop and are now with a full new team of developers. They aren't taking it as seriously as you'd think. There has been a lot of public support for this independent project. They could have easily increased funding or found someone to contract them and get this game out. Still hoping one day that this will be a fully released game that allows us to relive the glory and horrors of the Titanic; But I'm not sold on it at all.

Found one easter egg from Titanic Adventure out of Time - You can enter Cabin C-73, your cabin from that game. The big trunk from the game is in there & open, so you can see the items that were in it in that game.

The two emergency dynamos are present. It's really cool to see them.

I do request, just as a little shed of nostalgia, to do a demos comparison. Compare areas from "Then and Now" from demo 1 to demo 401 2.0. The comparisons will be astonishing, and only truly show how fantastic everyone at VDR is about bringing this to us. Beyond that, I'll love to be there with you every step of the way!

Nice to see you you revisit Titanic content! Btw, the fidley was used to allow hot air to naturally rise up and out of the boiler rooms while also letting some light in. Fresh air was pumped in through the rectangular vents on the bulkheads. Also, the round shape of the fireman's passage was because it was meant to be watertight. Basically the passage passed through two watertight bulkheads, but if two watertight doors were placed in there then it would create a section no one could escape from if they were closed. So instead they had just one watertight door at the end and made the passage itself watertight to bypass the middle bulkhead. The rounded shape was needed to give it the strength to resist water pressure.

I am loving what I am seeing come out of the team recently - this demo was honestly a surprise - to be sure, but a welcome one.
White Star Line was cursed! Now there's Blue Star Line.
The firemen tunnel is arched because it passes through several watertight bulkheads. In case of flooding arch form is more resistant to the water pressure than a flat ceiling. Nice video!
Havent been onto this channel in a while. I tend to get alot more into titanic each spring due to april getting closer.

Hey Spammals, I just want to say. Thank you for all the videos you've made. I have been a huge fan of you since I was 10. And I remember getting home from school excited to watch your latest videos. You were a huge part of what got me into the Titanic, its history, and ocean liners in general. and I even went to Belfast late last year and saw the Nomadic and Museum (It was a blast). And I have a Titanic collection of stuff too! Also I absolutely loved the new demo and video and will be purchasing Project 401 the day it comes out! (Televisions on the Titanic Time travel confirmed)

Back in the 90s when I started working on 3D games, I thought a good retirement project would be to build a 3D model of the Titanic that people could explore. Well… I haven’t retired yet. Beat me to it!

Thank you for your videos, its quite fun to watch them actually xD, I got to test this demo yesterday and I love the level of detail if you use the mouse wheel you can pan in or out, also, if you go to the first class forward staircase, go down to E deck, on the left side(as you just going down) there is an open cabin, the E23 thats Molly Brown cabin, and in the same area were the elevators are, on the ground next to the first elevator there is a brass circular object on the floor, that has on the wall a wood box and a plaque, thats a point for the crew to manually close the water tight doors that are bellow in the F deck... Also LOL I fell down the cargo hole on top XD

The swimming room is probably the most well preserved rooms in the ship today, while evacuation they closed the door and they have been closed ever since
The Turkish baths are well preserved too, even the titles sill have their colours on

I missed you man!!! Also there is apparently it's been implied there is a secret somewhere in the coal bunkers, if you climb up one of the coal piles. Also a secret way into an ash ejector compartment from the crew washroom. Oh Oh and C73 has a very fun nod to Adventure Out Of Time. I'm asking you because I'm a mac user and can't go there myself!!

The demo runs amazingly well and looks fantastic! Even on my gaming laptop with a Geforce GTX and 8GB RAM. Kinda sad it's not enough to take a look at the first class areas but what I was able to explore was absolutely breathtaking. And with Unreal Engine 5 it was pretty surprising how much natural light was actually able to come into the ship via windows and portholes. I'm hoping to eventually afford an actual gaming PC at some point that can run the entire demo and hopefully the whole game!

Did you know, that if you go to that stuards lavy, there is a door, leading to the ash disposal room. And if you're not careful enough, you may drop all the way down into the Boiler room :)
Also, there is one open 3rd class cabin. Hard to find though.
And speaking about the easter eggs - there is one huge egg nest in the cabin C73 :)
