I came here from a video from 8 years ago, it's heartwarming to see the family have added a member and are continuing to happily travel and live so close to nature.

First off it isn't wagon. You are probably building on a trailer. Second, gypsy is a race. Do people ever build jew wagons? Or african wagons and then claim to live like africans? Stop being lame. Stop stealing our culture its racist.

@@TheWhimsicalFamily why not build something from your own culture? A sheep wagon or a covered wagon camper.

@@Judathehero who are you to know my culture or ancestors? If you must know the vardo wagons were not just "a culture" but fundamentally our entire nation is built on traveling settlers. Thats how my ancestors came about such as many others. "Gypsy" is a culture today but back in time it was just a group of people who traveled about. You seem to have no idea as to what a racist is also. Maybe you should look into history and stop spreading your hatred. Blessed be.

stunning best o luck to them , when your living in London terrified of mortgage payments n bills due to a pandemic n relying on government , this looks like a a viable option , problem is i grew up in the Scottish borders not so far from this family , and my nature is to migrate to concrete , cities , and the masses , me i would love to live in a Gotham or a complete built up super city, me in my teens well i couldn't run away from those fields fast enough , were all different stay safe , peace

A lot of places in certain states that has free camping. It what our plan is to use. Will be once our wagon is built. I dont plan to be hooked up to a power source. I have a generator if needed, and propane to cook with, and keroscene to heat with. Water is use by a hand pump. Lights are battery operated.

Hello man, I watch a lot of vardo related videos on youtube and your name crops up again and again in the comment sections. Would you mind giving me your opinion on something? If its a no then no worries - sorry to bother you. I live in a bow-top that I built onto a caravan chassis when I was 21, that was 7 years ago. I busk and do odd-jobs to get by, I am not well off but I like living like this. I am not related by blood or upbringing to RGT's, I'm not horse-drawn, I know fuck all about horses and I cannot rocker for shit either (though if there was some way of learning, I would). In short, I'm a gorja. My question is, if I know that and know a bit about RGT's and empathise with your frustration that not enough people respect or understand the problems that RGTs face, or their history, or their cultural identity and often appropriate stuff and caricature and use offensive words out of ignorance or malice, if I know all that, is it all right for me to live in a bow-top? I like it! I don't go around telling people I'm a 'gypsy' or pretending to be something I'm not, I just admire the craftsmanship and beauty of the vardos so much man and I'm proud of the one I built. I travel around a lot doing music. I know you don't speak for every RGT (obviously) but what do you reckon?

@@amateurtripe7860 I cannot see anything wrong with anyone having the personal autonomy they should have and the freedom to live the way they wish in this world. We should all have that freedom as long as we respect and harm nobody else in our own processes of course.
I think the issue is when someone wants to go around telling others they are a Gypsy/Romani when they are not, and especially when they have no connection or ancestry at all even to the culture themselves and show a lack of understanding and respect to it, other than wanting this romantised image of it all. If you want to live in a lovely vardo and enjoy your life, as well as showing empathy and understanding to the GRT community, along with taking up a stand against those that seek to harm them in this society, then that's totally fine.
