- The perfect wedding surprise for the musical-loving newlyweds Susanne and Sune Vibæk Svanekier on their wedding on May 26 2012 at the Workers' Museum in Copenhagen.
The 27 performers were all friends invited to the wedding (this was the actual wedding, NOT a rehearsal dinner), many of them are professional Danish musical performers.
Performing the solos are:
Jean Valjean (the first part): Jais Larsen (the toastmaster who also had the idea to do this and orchestrated rehearsals)
Jean Valjean (the rest of the number): Mads Lisby
Marius: Johnny Jørgensen
Cosette: Christine Elisabeth Mørkøre
Eponine: Sarah Thordsen
Enjolras: Thomas Bay
Javert: Ulrik Hansen
Thénardier: Michael Mathiesen
Mme Thénardier: Hanne Thordsen - Zábava
The next day the janitor will be singing 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables' by himself.

+ancientpaths7 I personally believe that most everyone could sing like this if they practiced often and stayed in vocal shape.
If you want to be surrounded by people like this, all you have to do is practice singing with your friends. It's a fun pastime, and it doesn't break the bank, like, say, going to the movies and going out to eat.
Singing competitions are crammed full of people who "can sing." It's really not as 'rare' as people think it is. It's a skill, like anything else.
Creativity has little to do with it, either. They didn't write the song. They *worked hard.* That's the point.
KindlingKatalyst absolutely! 100% true!! I miss this, I had circles of friends like this growing up, in college, and some after. At this point in my life, I don't get to see my friends as often, and those who I see aren't into music as much. Incredible group of people here!!

Not sure a song about two lovers about to be separated, a girl pining over unrequited love, students marching into certain death, and crooks who scam their guests, is the best song to sing at a wedding.
Taken out of context, you could tweak the parts so that it fits better. Marius and Cosette could change to the bride's/groom's parents wishing for one day more with their baby, and Eponine could be the groom's sister. Other parts could be twisted to make the song more positive too and wedding appropriate... Just a thought.
I feel the same way but I wonder if the deeper meaning behind the song has something to do with it. Yes the song is about facing war and oppression but it also is about overcoming it and coming out strong. Maybe that is metaphoric for the struggles that will come in s marriage and over coming them together as a couple.

I think the Enjolras part was sang more forcefully, but not better than the rest.

@@etherealtb6021 Indeed. The groom is a musical writer and knows a lot of people who's singing is incredible. There's a lot of layers to some of the people there that would be hard to explain in just a comment though. I know the man personally, he has been my teacher in a musical as well where I played as an actor as well.

I've seen a few of these One Day More wedding "flash mob" videos and this one BY FAR has the best singing.
Human beings are really strange creatures. Their singing is so thrilling and powerful. Such a memorable way of holding a wedding ceremony.

I agree, this isn't quite a flashmob, but this is still quite nice to hear. I don't understand how it is Eponine's singer seems to have the best voice no matter the cast. The whole ensemble was great, but she was just a bit above the rest.

I've listened to all the versions of this that are out there, including the 25th and 10th anniversaries. This one is by far my favorite! Amazingly talented folks, bravo!

Hm. Well We did the chicken dance at my brothers wedding. Things were going fine but about halfway through the music stopped. I asked the Dj why and he said he was stopping it because everyone was doing an unsatisfactory job. I was like 'oh'
