- Taylor Ranch is trying to rezone a piece of agricultural land to build 4500 homes surrounding Bradenton Motorsports Park and The Freedom factory. There is another company that will follow this up with another 3500 homes. THATS 8000 HOMES SURROUNDING BOTHE RACE TRACKS! This will effectively close the tracks. I have seen this movie many times. Sent emails. I lost my local race track in West Palm Beach this year, after operating almost sixty years. Big hole in South Florida for drag racers. These tracks need to be saved at all costs.
I sent the email as soon as I saw Garret's video. It's a shame that this keeps happening around the country. I remember when Jeff Miles had to deal with it years ago at Carolina. Like who buys a house within a mile of a racetrack and expects to never hear a racecar? Let's hope that this push to have our voices heard combined with Garret, Victor, and their lawyers can get this resolved and we can have another 50+ years of racing in Bradenton.
Chances are its way to late as the board is in the pocket of developers, its the norm all over the country. My little small rural town council has the same problem, one major developer has three swing votes on the board and we residents have to fight tooth and nail at every meeting to keep their progress machines at bay, i wish ya’ll the best of luck dealing with this issue.
Hopefully, you are wrong. Honestly, you are probably right. I built apartment complexes, and when we went into a city/town that didn't want them, we paid. Mayors, town council members, zoning board heads. I personally delivered checks for $100K just to get permission to start breaking ground. Sad but true. Money talks and bullshit walks. But we can always hope.

I made street racing a high point in my email to the Manatee Commission. I have never been there, but i have family that raced NHRA Super Gas there over 20 yrs ago. My dad ran their car, too, along with motorcycles. This will be a grave mistake if they allow 8000 houses to be built.

You know me. I usually post comedic comments on your vids. Not today. I lived in the Bradenton area for years. Worked for John Deere at their test facility less that one mile from the track. Went to MANY races there, including several Snow bird races. The thing I don't understand, is them wanting to build homes there. They would have to sell in the 200k -500k price range. I am very educated in the finance world, and the housing market is in the gutter now, and will only sink further as the inflation/ interest rates climb. My dad was instrumental in building my local track in 1962, and it is still very active to this day. Phone calls, emails, and hand written letters are on my agenda tomorrow. It's too late for the snail mails to be sent today, but Imma hammer them tomorrow. Fight the good fight, Stevie. We appreciate you for it. Hammer down. SUPERPOOF!

God you’re a good man. Email sent. The MX track I have announced at for 23 years has houses right up against the FENCE. They hope that we fold, because the “throw away” land from the mid ‘80s is now where they intend to put a 36 hole golf course for Northern Quest Casino and Spokane Casino. The spot where I announce from, is the proposed “ProShop”.

They should build a motorsports themed subdivision. I don't know why that has never been done. I think they built a place like that in upstate NY and Minnesota.

I grew up going to ALL the short tracks here in Florida. Over the years we have lost way too many!! I'm nearly 50 now,
my boys are 5 and 6 and I am concerned they won't get to experience the awesomeness of going to the track. Meeting new people and learning new things. Safe Travels Stevie !!

This is just the situation where you also need involvement from SEMA, PRI, and the RPM group to weigh in. When developers proceed with arrogance in building residential properties in close proximity of any race track, it always ends poorly for the tracks. This has a ripple effect on down the line through the industry(s) whether it's hot rodding, racing, etc. Growing up in So Cal I know that of what I speak. If representatives of PRI, SEMA, and those involved with the RPM act were to show up, think about the message that will send.

Seen this same exact scenario here in Connecticut back in 1985. I also sent lengthy testimony to oppose the rezoning of the land in Bradenton.
I wish CZcams and other social media was so popular even 5 or 10 years ago. We lost many tracks to date to similar situations and I think the outreach that is being done now to save future tracks and a welcome site to see. I hope we can stop potential future track closings.

Century village built near Miami Hollywood speedway in1990 and a year later the track was gone. Big business wanted PBIR (moroso) and its gone. I was planning to move to Bradenton, and now it's facing doom. It's hard to win against mega developers, but I hope we can.

Thanks for taking time to help out the track .and for making the comments about resoectful e mails this is a serious matter and only calm serious objections will be concidered..we are losing tracks accross the country and thier is a real threat from government to not only close down racetracks but to eliminate older automobiles entierly..the aftermarket parts manufactures are coming under assult and junkyards accross the country are being targetted by epa everyday .there intentions are clear..make it difficult to keeep old cars on the road .this is an assult on our freedom to drive old cars anywhere not just on race tracks..any how we must make our objections to these measures kniwn in a professonal calm and respectful manner in order to be heard and taking seriously.i know that summit and jegs have links to ways to help the speed industry fight back so next time you order parts ask them what you can do to help them fight back as well.thanks steve eep the win lights coming on ! I have a circle track near me, and it’s loved by the residents. I thought that was the case in many places. I learned I was wrong. I used to have a client in the Bradenton area. Brought up that I race and would love to get there with my vehicle one day, and the response was how much they can’t stand the track. Sad.
I will definitely send the emails even though I’m on the west coast and have never been there. I think it’s crazy and in American that developers get the rights to cover every square inch of gods green earth with track homes and strip malls!!
Well the way that I look at it if the People by the land around the racetracks then they need to put a sound barrier up so they can't hear the racing that is going on they should not shut the tracks down because they want the land so they can build some houses Victor wants to track so he can see some racing so what put a sound barrier up

Peaceful noncompliance folks. The community needs to stand in their way. Simply say no, don't allow them on the land. Get your own power/water/etc. Your neighbor has no authority on your property!

The houses they are building will be around 4k/year in property tax revenue. Tough to beat that. Remember freedom isn't free. It cost you a race track.

Steve i shot all theses people a email my family lived in florda & was in court with a flower grow place houses were built around and did deal to move them on land that they bought & moved the whole company there! (this was done by house builders) my ex uncle said it was odd they paid for everything i just told them what needed done, i said this might not be done with 2 race tracks but a sound stopping or dead-ing wall around the whole place both race tracks & a 10 year sound rule and then house people owner know of this race track and sound rules!

Man, if I'm the Freedom factory I hire a person to hand out flyers right at the sales office or model homes.
Man this is just a sad situation. I have never been to those facilities but seen a lot of them via videos, you tube etc. some of the top facilities around and to have these developers wipe them off the map reminds me of what Wal Mart likes to do. Unfortunately the city council doesn’t see it this way and passed the measure to have them build. They don’t care if they wipe them out and delete them from their county. Garret said last night over 15,000 of us emailed and it did zero good. I sure hope Victor and Garret are up for the fight of their lives to save their businesses/tracks. Our local track in Noble Ok was just sold at the end of the season and they have only promised to keep it open a year at a time. Closest track to us is 2hrs away and if it’s gone there’s tributes to some very close people gone, memories gone, relationships gone, and the economic impact of Outlaw Armageddon and the 75 other races that happen here every year gone to a very small town of less than 10,000 people. These developers don’t care and are just land grabbing anywhere they can regardless of who’s in the way!

Is there a wastewater treatment plant close by that can handle 8,0000 homes. If not, this project should be stopped before the next meeting. That's why we lost our West Palm Beach track. No septic tanks allowed in wildlife and wetland areas in our situation. And the County Commision knew it. The property just sits quiet!!
Those developers have no idea the hornets nest they kicked.....

They closed down my home track (Atlanta Dragway, Commerce Ga ) to build condos. And literally nobody gave af anymore than to just say "well that sucks". So that means NHRA has Zero dates in Georgia now and we no longer have a 1/4 mile track for big events and our own racing. But again. Literally nobody fkin cared. Everyone was like "well that sucks. Oh well, what can ya do". And although this already has gotten 200% more attention and effort than ATL Dragway got. Bradenton is going to be the next one to go. Do you honestly think that those developers don't have the judges and others in their pockets? This isn't a fair, even and legal playing field that we're playing on. And until everyone realizes that it's never going to stop. Bradenton will be gone and the people who voted it through will have their pockets lined in the process.
As a former solider this is a bigger slap in the face then living all those weapons in Afghanistan both times. NHRA IHRA and SEMA should have been all over this.

We have 3 local tracks, two of them have small towns a few miles away, all you can hear from town is pro mods and fuel cars doing burnouts, which isn't that often, and nobody cares. Building a 8000 homes right beside a track, they know exactly what they're doing, shame.

It all comes down to the money. The individual home pays property taxes. The race track pay nothing close to that money. I sent emails already but all to no avail the money will win unfortunately.

Times change. Drag Racing needs 21first century facilities. This old out dated track is losing money hand over foot. These new developments will bring jobs to the American people and provide an economic boost to the area.

You must have not paid attention to the millions of dollars that have been invested into both these facilities over the last year. These racetracks are some of the most lucrative and profitable in the country.
The bottom line is the track’s were there first&it’s a place where ppl go to enjoy life/car’s/ each other. By the way I can promise you both facilities have invested millions&millions of dollars into there tracks over the year’s so idk what you talking about...just because they don’t look like a billion dollar F1 track in Dubai doesn’t mean it shouldn’t continue to exist.
