Jianna Jackson hey I applied to NYUAD regular decision. Is there any additional things I should do besides submitting the application for me to get to go to candidate weekend in February/March?
Lubanah Alayoubi You must answer all the questions for NYU on the Common App, do their supplemental essay, “Why NYU?” And then you’re all clear to apply. You’re also advised to do the CSS Profile and or the FSAFA (if you’re an American citizen) for financial aid. If you’re going Regular Decision, you won’t hear back from them until next year, and your Candidate Weekend is next year too, but you absolutely must attend to be considered. The likelihood however, that you’ll attend is based on your performance at the Candidate Weekend. Not everyone who goes will be offered admission. That is why this video was so integral.

Don't be too upset! I am sure you will be able to go to a university that fits you best!! And remember, just because you didn't get into a university doesn't mean your efforts are gone- it will stay with you and become your asset at the end!!
A really great video. I got invited to candidate weekend 2019 so it is basically in 2 weeks and I am pretty excited and scared. I am kind of a reserved person so I think 2 days is way too less time to make myself stand out and connect with the faculty. What should I do?
It is great that you are coming to campus! You don't have to be out going and just try your best to show who you are! Also, the programs are made in a way that makes it very easy to speak or engage with the other candidates and students. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Actually, I applied ED1 this year but got deferred to ED2, do you have any tips on what I should do moving forward to increase my chances of getting in this time around?

Do you know how many people that went to candidate weekend got admitted? Was it 50%~ or more? Also, what criteria do they use to select the student from candidate weekend; do the essay before/after CW matter much in the selection? The students that got rejected- What got them rejected? Thanks!
Hmmm I think about 60% gets admitted- but its a rough number out of my head and I am not really sure. The criteria is not officially given, and because NYUAD takes a holistic stance for the admission, I think they just basically looks at every thing

I applied for ED2!! I don't think the level of competitiveness is different among the decisions!!
