@@josecarranza7555 not stolen, used many times also I don't claim that its mine I felt that the phrase was fitting for his character. Vito was orphaned when he came to New York so he built his family from marrying Michael's mother and earning loyalty from people that didn't have any blood ties with him but shared similar backgrounds. Vito didn't inherit any riches unlike Michael. When I said "everything" I meant things like loyalty, wealth, family all of the things which Vito built his life upon and Michael inherited but Michael lost them eventually and hence the phrase "died with nothing"

      2) i don't talk about Italy , when Micheal comes back , he lies to Kay that he gonna quit this type of life, lies about k*lling, push her away and hit her . Anthony decided to memorize a song to thank his father for supporting his music career.
    Song begins....
First half of a song speaks about man who is awake in the middle of the night, he can't fall asleep bc he wants his woman back
At that moment Michael is NOT thinking about Apollonia.
At that moment Michael is thinking about Kay .
" Kay, every night here in Sicily all I dream about is my wife and children and how I lost them. Don't dread me any more Kay I love you "....says Michael to Kay later in the movie.
Only at the end of the song when lyrics to a song said " What I thirst for love She thirst for water " he remembered her.
Thirsty for love so he needs sex.
    Thirsty for water means YOUNG.
That is what happened to Michael.... he needed sex , so he took it, je drank.
We call that fu**ing but that would be too vulgare for movie.
Song is called B. Terra and is proof that Michael only had physical act of love aka sex with Apollonia.
He takes off the glasses and puts his face in his hand. That is a signature Michael's gesture he made throughout entire trilogy when he is shocked. That is how he reacted when he found out about Fredo's betrayal, after Kay told him Anthony knows about Fredo, in the kitchen after Zaza tried to kill him....etc.
Its a .... ooh dear God moment.
Mary storms out. Michael puts on glasses and goes to face ugly truth..... conversation he had with his children wasn't emotional moment but attempt to convince Mary not to sleep with Vincent.
" Father I betrayed my wife, I betrayed myself I killed man I had man killed, i I killed my brother. I'm beyond redemption ".... says Michael to priest right after he finished conversation with his children.
That is what Michael thinks about Apollonia.... that she is a sin beyond redemption, that sleeping with her is as bad as killing his brother

Apollonia died he came home and told Kay he loved her and cared about her.
Kay left he got diabetes, aged over night, stopped smoking drinking killing, never took the ring of his finger or touched another woman for the rest of his life.
He turned himself into a savage animal to protect Kay so what happened in Sicily wouldn't happen to a woman he actually loved. Especially after his father gave him advice " Women and children can be careless men can not "
" Kay, I did what I could to protect you from horrors of this word "
" Why was I so feared. What betrayed me was it my heart or my heart ..
When Apollonia was in danger, danger he deliberately put her in....first he had sex with her. Than he stood on a balcony and told Fabricio to take her to her father's house. He didn't even bother to take her himself.
When Kay was in danger, danger he didn't put her in .... he locked her up, put her on house arrest, surrounded her with army with guns, sat down with Tom Hagen and told him " I'm trusting you with the life of my wife and children "...

Word happiness is exclusively associated to Kay, as Michael himself said to his father. Which is why he was dreaming about Kay while he was with her.
And she was hot..... which is why he wanted to sleep with her and then was over her after he had her...
She was also goldigger, juvenile vrat with attention span of a moth and imbecile that could not memorize seven days in a week in a roll....

When mafia war began Michael pushed Kay away from him and his family. It was dangerous for her to be around them. He did it bc he loved her, cared about her and valued her.
After Michael committed murders he had to flee to Sicily.
Months were passing by and song Speak softly love begins to play. Michael is thinking about Kay. He wipes the tear of his left eye. Don Tomassino's car pulls up
Michael:" When can I come back home did Sonny say "
Don Tomassino:" Sonny said your enemies know that you are in Sicily "..
He kept walking and he saw good looking chick filled in all the right places.
He got thunderbolt. Thunderbolt is not romantic feeling which is why her father ran into his Cafe when he realized that chick filled in all the right places was his daughter.
    Thunderbolt is eraction
There is no sex before marriage in Sicily so to satisfy his desire he had to marry her.
He was in pain from losing Kay, he was lonely and sexually eract so he went for it.
He chased Apollonia in the middle of the mafia war, conned her into marrying him at the hight of the danger and killed her with the wedding.... that is the point of the story.
He threatened to murder her father if he tells anyone about him hiding there
He didn't give a fuck if she knew he was a criminal coming from the mafia family
He never told his parents he met her, noone knew he got married.
He came into her house disheveled and with armed bodyguards.
He didn't come to speak to her, or get to know her, he didn't even say hello.
He came to make her an offer which she goldigger she was couldn't refuse.
" Wedding was set up in two weeks bc she thought he was rich ".... sentence from the book perfectly captured in a movie, to a detail.
He never told her she was in danger. He never told her about mafia war. They found him. ..everybody knew he was in Sicily, noone knew where. Village circus of their wedding during which Michael was completely detached is how they found him....is how he killed her
He never looked at her during wedding, not one time.
Not one romantic song was associated to her.
After sex he was over it. Pass the bedroom scene there was nothing between them.
He didn't hug her, touch her, kiss her, barely looked at her. He is teaching her how to drive a car bc he promised her....material stuff is how he lure her into marriage.
But Michael doesn't want to do it. Also, it's not going very well. She is profoundly stupid.
Michael is only glad to see Don Tomassino and speak to him bc Don brings messages from Us and Michael was thinking about Kay while being married to Apollonia.
He laughed at the idea that she wanted to be American wife.
He brought Kay back into his life only after he made sure it was safe for her. After he made plan to legitimize the business and execute all the families so no mafia war would ever happen again...
That and only than he went to New England to get Kay.... only woman he loved with his heart.

Michael and Kay are sitting at the table. Johnny Fontana walks in. He begins to sing--- I got but one heart----
Michael takes Kay's hand and says " Listen to a song "
    Song continues
---- You are the only dream I pray it comes true---
Michael turns around and looks at Kay with nothing but love.
First time Apollonia saw Michael she ran away disgusted it.
Second time he came into her house she is indifferent. Actually she straight up didn't like him. Than he gave her a necklace.
Third time they are sitting around table Michael is drinking, he does that when he needs sex.
He looked across the table and smiled bc he saw necklace around her neck.
She is first deadly serious, than she TOUCHES the necklace around her neck and smiles back...
There you have it..... to a detail Coppola captured what was stated in a book, what a manipulative little goldigger she was.
She thought she got herself a daddy but daddy got her.
Michael knew he was putting her in danger and he said nothing..... he didn't care. He just wanted her, sexually. He needed love.
Michael taking Kay to a same room where he had sex with Apollonia
Michael;" I spent many nights in this room thinking of you "
Kay:" Than you got married "
Michael:" I still thought about you "....meaning it was just sex.
Kay Admas , a woman he lived for.
He killed all the families so no mafia war would ever happen again.
He threatened sitting US Senator bc of Kay
He operated his face bc of Kay
He stood the godfather to Connie's kid bc of Kay
He killed his brother bc of Kay.
Apollonia had a very ugly side to her which is Michael felt nothing for her in his heart, nor does he have quilty conciences over her death.
He was thinking about Kay while being with her.
He always has to be reminded that she existed and than forgets in a second
But she didn't deserve to die ..... he killed someone's child just like someone killed his child in gf3. That is a meaning of the ending of gf3.

Except everything was personal especially in gf1 and gf2 ....
" Every murder, every robbery Michael committed he felt in his heart it was the right thing to do, he did for his family " ...
Coppola's words in a documentary called Godfather family: a look inside.
Just like it was described in a book....

Once Michael offered himself to save the family, he was being introduced into the business. His only " teacher" was his father. He absorbed the philosophy of Vito.
" Women and children can be careless men can not "..... after which he turned himself into a savage animal to protect Kay so what happened in Sicily wouldn't happen to a woman he actually loved.
" I don't apologize for anything, I worked my hole life, everything I did I did for my family ".... those were Vito's words . Michael listened to them and absorbed them. Michael did the same. His intention to legitimize the business was honest but in the process he was extorting people and robbing them. In gf2 he stole hotel Tropicana. He loved his family more than anything so he did what he thought was correct for them . His father thought him that.
" He betrayed himself, he corrupted himself, he became his father's puppet ".... said Coppola during commentary.
That is completely compatible with the book.
It wasn't until Kay left that he stopped..... stealing, killing, he wasn't interested in business just cleaning up his family name.
In gf3 he didn't want to be called gangster.
That was practically additionally confirmed by Michael himself in the letter he wrote to his children at the beginning of gf3.
Once Michael lost the family there was no reason to accumulate the money.
Vito was the same..... wasn't interested in business after he lost his first son. Again, explained by Michael in the letter.
" Michael doesn't care about business any more, winning against other families . All he cares about issues of the heart.".... Coppola commenting gf3.

If you have any questions just ask. I'm here for you.
If you decide to make more videos about trilogy here is something interesting.
      Entire movie is made through
" parallels " as Fred Ross, the producer of the movie confirmed.
Book is written in that context.
Every scene is made in that way .......
Allow me to give you example.....
      MICHAEL AFTER Apollonia died. ..
He came home bc his father could no longer guarantee his safety. They are speaking in Vito's backyard.
Michael:" Pop, what about Sonny, what about Sicily? If we don't respond isn't that gonna be sign of weakness "....
He is not even mentioning her, not even saying her name let alone addressing her as his wife. He is not angry nor is he calling for revenge.
He is worried about status of his family, worried that they are weak.
Vito tells him they are weak but there is nothing he can do about it.
He gave his word he wouldn't respond to make a piece deal so he can bring Michael home, safely.
Michael hesitated but than offered himself to save them. He did out of loyalty to the family and love towards his father.
So, what about Sicily? Well, Barzini tried to kill him but he got away.
GOT AWAY..... those are the words Michael used in a book when he was speaking to his dad about Sicily.
Vito :" Why do you think Barzini tried that.Did he try to kill you before we made a deal or was it too late to stop it "?
Michael:" Yeah but I got away "...
      SPOT THE DIFFERENCE.....
Michael after house got attacked in gf2.
Kay didn't die, she wasn't even wounded but almost.
Michael sat on a train that very same night without even changing his clothes.
He didn't wait next day to take a plane.
He didn't take a car bc he wanted to get to NY as soon as possible to speak to Frank P.
In that same house, his old father's house this time screaming bloody murder
" Did you hear what happened in my home,in my home, in my bedroom where my wife sleep and where my children come to play with their toys. In my home. I want you to help me get revenge ".
At that moment in the script Coppola writes a sentence ----- Frank P has never seen Michael that angry ----
      # parallels.

I dont like the keep you friends close and your enemies closer quote. Think its plaid out. At the end of the day its not your enemies that will betray you but your own circle will. Its like that in any business you get into.
The story of Salvatore Giuliano is a example of this. Look it up its a true story.
