I Found SEALED Albums in the DOLLAR BIN at the Local Antique Mall

  • CRT (Chris from Rekkid Talk) tries to be diligent in checking the antique mall in his hometown for new records. While it is disheartening to see the same hopeless bins of terrible rekkids month after month and year after year, sometimes there are new dollar bins and they have sealed rekkids. See if they are worth buying and watch me open them, fingers-crossed that they aren't cracked or warped.

    In case you might be concerned that I "missed" something in that bin, I revisited this booth a few days ago and part of a video that will probably be released sometime in December will cover that trip, which includes some other interesting rekkids new to that mall.

    I found my copy of the first Violent Femmes still sealed in a junk store. I found a whole bunch of great sealed albums in a San Rafael CA thrift store for $1 each back in the 80s. Indie, punk, alt. An exceptional find. I still have some of them.
    I'm glad you made a score!

      It's always weird to find someone selling rekkids for a buck that people actually want these days.

    Face Dances was first Who album I owned. Bought it on cassette back in 1981. One of my first music purchases. Love it. Listened to it constantly back then. Still like it. I’ll stand by it to the end. Nice score for $1 and fact that poster was still inside is a bonus. I remember that movie Roadie. Saw it a few years ago. My memory is it was one of those movies ya watch and goof on.

      I don't think I ever saw Roadie. I don't think that Face Dances is too bad, either. I know it doesn't get the love that many of the earlier Who albums get.

      @@RekkidTalk yeh i get why people didn’t like Face Dances. But it remains one of my favorites.

      I think so too! I wish I found these albums before I bought one of them used for $10.

      At $1 each, I wasn't too worried.

    Hi Chris this just goes to show that if you keep looking eventually you’ll strike gold .. 1 dollar each 🎉

      The booths with decent cheap records never last very long, while the ones with expensive and/or 💩records stay forever.

    The Roadie soundtrack is quite fun! With an excellent version of Ring Of Fire by Blondie and Pain by Alice Cooper!

      It's all over the place in terms of groups.

  • @stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147

    Okay, that is weird to see those sealed albums for a $1. I wonder how they did that and not Jack up the price. Oh, now I see, sealed with a price tag lol. The big gamble lol.

    • @RekkidTalk
      @RekkidTalk  Před 8 měsíci

      The Sade was in shrink, the others just with the price tag. Apparently this seller just wants to get rid of these records.

    Sade was great find. I bought both those on video 5€ each.

    Just like I keep saying, you have to keep going back to look through the usual junk to occasionally find those excellent deals. Definitely worth taking on chance on the ones you picked up, you can't go wrong with Sade, of course, unless it's warped, but for $1 you are just not out that much if it is. Excellent score!

      A few I had, a few I passed on since I figured I wouldn't listen to enough to justify devoting space to. I already have too many records.

      @@RekkidTalk : Makes sense. My vinyl days are long gone. Not interested in vinyl or CD's anymore. As you mentioned the space they take up.

    everything but the SADE in that crate is crap.

    • @RekkidTalk
      @RekkidTalk  Před 8 měsíci

      Close, but I liked a couple of others for a buck. There's a group of albums I'd pay $1 for but not much more that they fell into.

      @kwd-kwd Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@RekkidTalk there is other music in that crate that I like, but the Sade is the most underpriced, is what I meant. I like lots of albums that do not have much value.

    Misleading title. Only one actually sealed record. The others could easily be trashed vinyl.
