RFID technology, properly implemented, would do far more for traffic safety as well as getting scofflaws off the streets!

Its not only code, there are layers and layers of configuration for a single Microcontroller unit, for the many ones that operate in a single vehicle. Furthermore, there are external tools used to set th algorithms, namely matlab for example. In the end, when you see the whole picture, only a small part of the effort is spent coding, as the jobs becomes more of an integration than that of a "from the ground to the top" implementation. If you are interested, you could begin studying about AUTOSAR and RTOS. At least for a start, and to learn more or less a very little step of the process. In the end, a lot of parties are involved, vehicle development is a multi teams effort in the very end,

This is incorrect, the system this video describes is not resistant to tracking.
No radio system, especially one which literally transmits GPS readings, can be safe from tracking. This is in part because of a fundamental property of antennas called Reciprocity. By installing a higher gain antenna, or just more receivers, anyone could track your car with nearly no limitations if you enable what is described in this video.

Not only that but it could transmit other information that it has as well to anyone who can gain access to the system, how is it being logged how long are the logs retained is each vehicle considered to be a server that is able to communicate to the network? Too many questions and potential holes.
