    Hi Edwina,
    Thank you for the video and hi from Melbourne!
    When you say the saddle has to be ‘straight’ what section are you referring to? Are you speaking of the centre of the seat or the pommel and cantle being in line?
    I have a saddle that sits straight in the centre of the seat but the cantle sits higher. My horse works freely and has no soreness when I run my thumb and fingers with pressure down her back.
    Also on the comment of sweat patches, there seem to be some contradicting articles on this. One that made logical sense to me is that sweating only occurs when there is movement of the saddle. You don’t want small dry spots but if you have a large even patch of dry hair, equal on both sides, it means the saddle does not move while riding - which is ideal.
    I’d be interested in hearing what your thoughts are on sweat spots and the definition of straightness.
